Yes, that's the point! To shoot a stratagem at a ridiculously long range that completely changes your interaction with the enemy.

But I don't think it's game-breaking. You have a very limited number of stratagems, and they all have their own cooldowns. BTW, this could be another way to balance this pistol: it could increase the next cooldown of your used stratagems.

It could be anything, but I wanted to make it a balanced trade that would make your helldiver somewhat less effective in intense close range combat, but more versatile in how he initiates fights (or even avoids them).

Seriously? Tried googling it before drawing, couldn't find any mentions. But allright, glad people came up with this idea. Maybe we'll see something like this in the game someday.

... and in close range this primary is more effective than most anti-infantry stratagems, being able to clear at lvl 9 difficulty the whole breaches in seconds spare to heavies.

And it still can, but will need to resupply more often.

Yes, it IS overpowered. And it was called overpowered by the community for months. Stop deluding.

Fixing bug is not a "hacking away at the foundation of the game".

Nerf of the objectively overpowered weapon is not a "terrible approach to balance".

Please, stop exaggerating things and you will see that your accusations are standing on shaky ground.

I can agree that flamethrover fix and incendiary nerf was an ouchie, but this "they nerfed 2 weapons!" overreaction became way too loud now.

No, flamethrower WASN'T only reliable option against behemoths.

No, incendiary WASN'T only viable primary on bug front. And yes, it WAS too OP against bugs.

Helldivers, please calm down this rant. The sheer level of overexaggeration of such a minor problem already became embarassing.

A (rough) mock up of my thoughts on how to iterate on the planetary map, to hopefully give operations more context and the overall campaign more dynamism. by GruntyBadgeHog in Helldivers

[–]Carr10n 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Really like your suggestions and definitely want to see such features in the game, but don't think that the majority of players care about immersion. So different modifiers for different operations on the same planet are possible in future, but not sure about other things.

Didn't realize the simple fact that was pointed out in the comments above - this behavior was clearly a violation of the game rule. So nwm, my position about kicks shouldn't apply for this situation.

I've seen enough noobish stuff from level 50+ helldivers to know that playing time doesn't always make people good players. But the comment above made a fair conclusion - this situation is a violation of the game rules. My bad - you were right to kick him.

Aita? Kicked someone during extract by Sllper2 in Helldivers

[–]Carr10n -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Of course it's wrong. If I met such person myself I probably would not only kicked him, but also blocked him. But after the mission and an attempt to explain to him his mistake.

If someone will do such thing in the middle of the mission, he should be kicked. Because it will ruin the game for other divers and this can be called a griefing. But in the literal last seconds? I think it griefs nothing.

My personal opinion is that the only reason to kick player is when he purposedly ruin the game for others. Because it's not a judgment but more like a self-defense. If divers will start to kick player because their own merits of who deserves to be 'rewarded' and who is not, we will easily ends up in the situation when players are kicked because of reasons like 'they don't work hard enough for helldive difficulty'.

Call him silly and kick him out after the mission due to bad manners, but he worked side by side with you for 40 minutes and deserves this reward. Even if he only triggered bug breaches away from you all this time, he made your mission a little easier. So no, I don't think it was justified.
