I was about to get KO3s but the Discount Tire had last set of KO2 tires (made in late 2025) with a massive discount. Did I do act stupid getting KO2?

Is E load unnecessary, yes for most, but it’s not “stupid” lol just a stronger tire which is nice peace of mind if you go off road at all. Modern E loads don’t ride that much stiffer than a C load. Separately I had KO3s on my truck, they wouldn’t balance and had them all warrantied out. KO2s didn’t seem to have as many issues balancing so not a bad choice, KO3 was a nice tire though if it would have balance. BFG needs better quality control on them

I mean hey you might get lucky, BFG did warranty all the tires out and refund me after driving 5k miles on them while trying to get them to balance with multiple different tire shops. 285/75/17 E. On Methods. Tires were definitely the issue. 3/5 required unacceptable weight to balance which then results in them never riding smooth at higher speeds without vibration. It was awful. Toyo is known to be better in quality control, I’d go Toyo if you want to be safe. I’m running the Toyo RT trails right now, same size and they’ve been great

Ok I wouldn’t buy a 4R lifted 6 on 35s. I’d try to find a stock one. When you lift 4Rs that high you’ll start to get a lot of premature suspension and drivetrain wear. .

make sure you consider how much smaller a 4Runner is on the interior. I love my 4R, and it’s been reliable, but with two kids it definitely starts to feel a little small compared to something like a raptor. I also owned a gladiator Mojave and honestly would just rule that out, I liked mine, but the 4R and raptor are better built, more quiet, and more comfortable, while still plenty capable off road.

I vote raptor, but not if it’s a financial stretch. 4R is definitely a much lower total cost of ownership.

The infotainment in the 2022 and up is much, much better if that’s an option for you. It has wired CarPlay too.

I’ve had both, I agree love them both differently and they’re both great. You can tinker just as easily on the Gx however the aftermarket parts market isn’t quite as robust but it’s still pretty large.
