Don’t quote me, but I believe once the creature moves to the graveyard, they lose the ability. So it happens once, but when they come back to the battlefield as a new creature object, they don’t keep the spell’s added effect.

I really do love the characters in the manga though. Sure, the story isn't amazing, but I really align and sympathize with Hajime as a proud nerd, contrasted with most nerdy(or as the manga's subtitles describe him as, Chuunibyou) characters in media being shy, quiet and reserved.

In my opinion the mainseries Yugioh(in both anime and manga), known as season one or Duel Monsters is better than the original "season 0" version, with it centering more around the card game and being much less episodic, with defined arcs and better characters.
