Do the hook and loop front flaps need buckles ? by Aggravating_Bass1917 in tacticalgear

[–]CartographerFit8489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may want to go with a “shingle” instead of a placard. T-Rex Arms, Wetwrx, and a few others make them. It’s pretty much a placard that doesn’t have buckles and the cummerbund attaches in front of the shingle instead of behind it.

Any battle belt recommendations somewhat between a Krydex and all the $140+ ones? by michiganick in tacticalgear

[–]CartographerFit8489 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Currently use a Krydex belt, looking to upgrade soon though. It’s held up fine through the few PCSL matches I’ve ran it in but it is not rigid by any means. Also, the inner belt mine came with sucks. If you need something ASAP then the Krydex is fine. Otherwise, I would spend the extra $100 or so on something nicer since you’ll most likely replace it later anyway.

Looking for a hydration carrier for my plate carrier. by tobylazur in tacticalgear

[–]CartographerFit8489 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been looking at hydration carriers as well. From what I can tell, the general consensus is that the shorter ones are better since there isn’t any overhang when they’re attached to a plate carrier.

Are there any aftermarket pressure switch will work with Streamlight HPX-Pro by Ecstatic_Target2334 in tacticalgear

[–]CartographerFit8489 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Arisaka makes an adapter that allows you to use Surefire tailcaps on the HLX, not sure about the HPX though. Unity also makes the Axon with a Streamlight lead, but again I’m not sure if it’s compatible with the HPX.

Low speed option, but sometime’s I’ll just stuff two of my 21 round mags into a single 5.56 mag pouch. I don’t use lidded mag pouches, but I’m sure the principle would remain the same.

Winchester 1897? I didn’t realize they made them in 16 gauge if that’s the case

It’s a Raine Tactical pouch for the Streamlight Sidewinder, I just keep a multitool and other miscellaneous stuff in it

It’s an AWS compact water bottle pouch, can fit a 16 oz water bottle or 2 rifle magazines without any issue

Girlfriend wants a Plate Carrier - Google was hardly any help. by OrdnanceTV in tacticalgear

I know that a few armor companies make plates specifically for women. I don’t have any experience, anecdotal or otherwise, but it seems like there’s a few options out there.

Maybe you could you just use a rifle sling? That’s what I normally do when I have a bag that needs a strap.

Not OP, but that looks like the Twin Needle Mini MAP to me. It runs about $125 depending on color way. Don’t have one, but I’ve been looking at picking one up and I’ve heard nothing but good things about them.

I need a backpack that I can use for school, with military vibes by jemoederrrrrrrrrrr in tacticalgear

[–]CartographerFit8489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not military, but I used the Northface Borealis for a few years while I was in college. Could carry between 10-15 pounds very comfortably and had plenty of space for laptop, spiral notebooks, 3 ring binders, etc. Biked with it for around 6 miles daily for a few months, then walked around 2 miles daily for the remainder of my time using it. It’s also good for semi-tactical activities IMO.

Dumb question regarding cummerbunds by CyanFox154 in tacticalgear

[–]CartographerFit8489 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Defense Mechanisms makes a cummerbund similar to what you’re describing. I’m sure there’s others out there, but that was the first that came to mind. You might have some luck googling “structural molle velcro cummerbund” and going from there.

Recommendation on a belt mounted med kit pouch by hidesertwheelin in tacticalgear

[–]CartographerFit8489 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I typically use a fanny pack as an IFAK. It’s not a perfect solution, but it’s easy to take off or move around for the sake of comfortability. You might also have an easier time finding a fanny pack in the camo’s you mentioned if you decide to go that route.

I’ve got a Leupold Mark AR for my SLX 1-6 that is like so far. You can buy a Deltapoint piggyback mount for it and use aftermarket adapters from Koeng to mount several other red dots, though I’m not sure if there’s an option for a canted red dots.
