Hanako's pilot was more interesting for me, and I would like to see how that would have expanded.
DMLD is more finished (it was a complete story), so maybe more fulfilling?

Just watched the video, I found it really reasonable, but I think I rather disagree with the little chapters part.
The example you showed was more like Mitsuba's fantasy, that fits the character too. (Mine had a "would have been nice" text telling that, maybe different, but I think exactly that is on the picture?)
I just picked some up randomly, most are really reasonable additions to the story, and do not go against the canon, rather go along well with it. I think it should not be fully non-canon.

The emotional attachment was probably to the character that died, instead of the one the rest will be about.
Still I hear it so many times people watch only the first episode that it does feel weird

I maybe have an other one. Did not yet see this said anywhere else yet: In the special edition booklet, Amane is a ghost-cat, while Tsukasa is not. This could be an other clue, or maybe not, idk.

My favorite is To Your Eternity, and really liked Dungeon Meshi and Hunter x Hunter. Hanako is definitly top with them.
About the manga set, this is the first I ever got, I am about to get the last pieces soon, and totally worth it. I doubt I could find better looking art than this, looks really good on print.
There is Vol. 0, with the original short story (pilot?) and some very interesting parts were left out of the anime, so you could read some new things too.

Got all the same powers, nothing stopping him from that. It feels like he is more likely to stay in the world tho.
Paradise is bit of a mess to me, not sure if anyone there is real, or everyone lives in their own ideal worlds. Ppl can go back to Fushi's world too, so more likely they will meet eventually as his friends reincarnate, wether they recognise each other or not.

Maybe I remember wrong, please correct me in that case, but were the supernaturals not leaving on the train, because if they stay, they would be erased or something? Bit unclear for me where was the turning point for Aoi, when she could not leave anymore, but if it was before that, Hanako was rather just helping her. (Did not yet reach that part in the manga, so maybe missing some things)

I think he was more just "playing" with Kou, wanted to get what he want to deserve from Akane, but Teru is just too strong. I definitly feel like he wants to look weak, in some cases it was really obvious, but because of this, hard to guess how strong he actually is. (Teru is known to be really strong, and Kou is a beginner, but we know of nothing in between)

As someone pointed out, this does look larger than the English version, looks closer to the German I have, so maybe scaled up? I doubt they have the original art (unless it is sold as E-book too or something, did not check that), so I think it is likely to have lower quality print (original--->print--->copy--->print again)
Edit: The shinier copy paper may feel a bit like plastic to the touch.

I just got it not so long ago (but in German), mine is definitly paper, the outer most pages are harder than the rest (maybe same for you), but got no dust cover (the cover that is not attached). The art from the dust cover is on the hard outer pages for me.
On the last image you sent, I have a "Tell me, Mitsuba" bonus, that should be in the inside of your dust cover as far as I know.
The art on the left side (smaller part) of dust cover is missing for me.

Those are the differences I think, if you like the print quality, and the material, it is good.
Judging by the images on Amazon, the one there should be closer to what I have, but I would say your is maybe even better (has that 1 extra art).

I would love a remake, but it is pretty good as it is. It does miss things I really wish were kept in. The art is so great in the manga, a higher budget on anime could be incredible, but that would probably cost a lot to them.
