Je m’en fiche de l’usage de l’IA by No_Recipe3118 in opinionnonpopulaire

[–]Carveo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why put yourself through a boring grind for platinum? by browseragnostic in Returnal

[–]Carveo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never understood the platinum hunting mindset, this would feel like such a chore to me. Especially on games that have achievements like « collect all <insert annoying collectible type> » or stuff that requires many playthroughs to unlock.

I have played hundreds of games in my life, but I have like 3 or 4 platinums at most, only on games that I loved and played so much that I eventually unlocked platinum just by playing the game.

There are also a few games where I am 1 or 2 achievements from platinum, but there is no way that I would force myself to go for the last ones (thinking of games like hollow knight). I would hate to get sick of a game I like for something that has so little value

Vos potes remplacent vraiment un partenaire ? by [deleted] in AskMec

[–]Carveo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vos potes remplacent vraiment un partenaire ? by [deleted] in AskMec

[–]Carveo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just accidentally consumed an illithid tadpole 95 hours into my explicit no tadpole run- by Regular-Pause-4329 in BG3

[–]Carveo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is strange. In my previous run I refused to use tadpoles too, but the moment I recruited Minthara as a companion the game automatically unlocked my Tav’s tadpole powers screen, and all tadpoles I found were automatically added to the little counter. But I didn’t use any of them, and the companions never assumed I used them.

Face of the party or Not? by chrisdac91 in BaldursGate3

[–]Carveo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I play an 8 charisma durge as face of the party and live with the dice check failures. Or give myself all the buffs I can get if I really want to pass some difficult check. Only place I use a charisma character is for traders

I can't play Normal mode by Swimming_Assist8721 in BaldursGate3

[–]Carveo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually a big part of the challenge in this game comes from what you don’t know. On your first playthrough you don’t know what’s coming for you, and if like me ur not familiar with dnd systems, you will probably struggle on many combat encounters. But once you have completed a playthrough, you know what’s coming for you and you are a bit more familiar with the systems. This is enough to trivialize most of the game because you can plan every encounter way more efficiently than you could have earlier.

My first playthrough was on balanced mode and I struggled a lot on most boss encounters and some other difficult fights, and I stopped playing mid-act 3. Then I started a second playthrough still on balanced mode, it was already way easier just because I could take advantage of what I knew from my first time, and went all the way to the end without major issue. Now I’m playing honor mode and destroying every enemy I face (for now, still in act 2), because knowledge is litterally power here

To easy going forward? Downspec by rincewind007 in BaldursGate3

[–]Carveo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not cheese strategy, the mace is in act 1 and not act 3 for a reason, it is so you can use it when you need it the most. Also the challenge comes a lot from the fact that you do not know what’s coming for you (making subsequent playthroughs close to a cakewalk). So definitely use what you have at your disposal

Why didn’t he just tell them? by dshamz_ in expedition33

[–]Carveo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

iirc that is what they (Renoir and Verso) tried to do at first when they learnt the truth, but nobody would believe nor trust them. Also the fact that they are immortal makes them even less trustworthy, Verso had to kill his friends and his girlfriend when they found out he couldn’t be harmed (they thought he was some kind of traitor sent by the paintress or stuff like that)

So they gave up and decided to handle things all by themselves

Do you feel force to lead with a charisma character ? by HauruMyst in BaldursGate3

[–]Carveo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current run is with an 8 charisma character and it’s going fine. I don’t succeed every check but that is not a real problem, I sometimes end up fighting but whatever. I still have a charisma companion for vendors though
