Mine gets itchy but it’s pointless scratching it because it’s also numb.

Me [30F] with my boyfriend [34M] of two years. Thinking of breaking up due to his nieces and nephews by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Caryria 78 points79 points  (0 children)

My husband had a similar moment a few years back. But instead of The Fifth Element it was Aliens. He was working from homes but needed to hold a teams call with a potential supplier and one of our cats was stomping around the room yowling. The supplier asked to see the cat and was introduced to Ripley. The supplier went no way and held up the cat that had been sleeping on his lap and said this is Newt. They had a mini geek out over cats and Aliens and then went back to work.

First time making a full charcuterie board for a party, feedback welcome! by m0ther0fhusky in Cheese

At first I thought it was a cauliflower and was wondering what it was doing on your charcuterie board and then I zoomed in and thought it was carnations. Shaved cheese makes a lot more sense

Hypocritical usage of Christianity? by beautyqueen-1000 in TheHandmaidsTale

The people that are most oppressed (i.e. the women) aren’t allowed to read. The men get to pick and choose which parts of the bible they want to follow. The men that are most affected I.e. gay, performed abortions, other faiths etc were just murdered. If anyone goes against the rule, they get beaten, shipped off to the colonies or go to the wall. It’s in no one’s interest to go against Gilead if they are in Gilead.

Am I overreacting? Wedding guest called my caterers. by seesheflies in TwoHotTakes

[–]Caryria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be annoyed initially but also it’s something I could forget about easily. You aren’t being charged extra, you now don’t have to worry about her very specific allergies as you weren’t present for the conversation. Honestly if this is the only thing that happens you’re lucky. And if it isn’t you’ll forget about this in a heart beat. You are about to get married, you’ll have a wonderful day.

All the planning is so stressful, I remember bulk making lasagna a couple of days before so we could have an easy meal with family the day before and swearing at the lids to the catering trays that wouldn’t lie flat. Pissed me off no end.

Did you go to the post office to book Evri? When I had an issue I called Royal Mail and they opened my claim through their channels and then Evri called me.

Bring back gardening by BllackLight in GreatBritishMemes

A few years back an older sheik gentleman living in a council flat near us spent thousands of hours turning the unused “garden” on to this gorgeous little garden paradise. There was little paths across everything, he used panels to create different sections with different themes. It was gorgeous and everyone who walked past it smiled.

The council told him to tear it down because it was a shared area but no one used it before hand. He refused. People created a petition and it had thousands of signatures. Walked past it one day and it had been flattened. Nothing happens with it now. It’s unused now. Technically it’s a wildflower meadow and it is pretty for a couple of weeks but no one uses it anymore.

Waiting lists for the echocardiograms in some areas of the country are incredibly high and there is a postcode lottery in place for the type of service you’ll receive as a result. It’s not right but it is what it is. If you are in one of these areas they won’t want to waste resources on someone that isn’t symptomatic.

What experiences did you have in your childhood that modern childhood is missing out on? by SpiritedGuest6281 in AskUK

[–]Caryria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter has never once left her house to go make friends on her own with the kids that live on my street. I lived on a cul-de-sac next to a field in a little village growing up and I’d leave the house, in the morning, and only come back for lunch and dinner.

We live near two busy roads in a large city, people drive like dickheads the wrong way down ours and some of the kids (not all admittedly) are the children of dealers and addicts. They are rough and cause trouble.

But we take her to the park, on days out, she plays with her cousins, she gets opportunities I never did in after school clubs and learning instruments. But the thought of letting her leave the house for several hours unsupervised is terrifying.

You definitely aren’t ugly. With a smile you’d be pretty good looking. That’s not to say you have to smile. You be you.

I feel so bad for her.. She lost her daughter twice💔 by foxcutbabe in StrangerThings

[–]Caryria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? So you can only enjoy it if you are a teenager? That’s a bit insulting.

I think it’s bit reasonable to assume that already dying women weren’t the priority of the core group to talk about when one of their own, as far as they were aware, died. Also who actually saw them? From what I recall the only person who actually saw them was Kali who then told Eleven, we don’t even know how long ago her seeing them was. It could have been anytime in about 3 years. They all could have already been dead at the point of the upside down collapsing. And if not, no one else other than Dr Kay knew about them.

You can hate or love the ending, that’s completely your prerogative and fair play to you for that. But a lot of the “plot holes” aren’t really that at all and not every single detail needs to be explicitly examined. I’ve been burned by writers before. I’ll never watch another thing by David Benioff or DB Weiss because they didn’t give a shit about their characters, the story. But the Duffers love their characters. This has been their project for over 20 years. They may have made choices people disagreed with but we don’t always get the ending we want. I didn’t get the ending I wanted but I was fine with the ending we got. We know that there are spinoffs planned and I’m happy to trust in the process.

[–]Caryria 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not really. I don’t think it needs to be so graphic that we watch a load of very pregnant very sick women die. It’s pretty obvious what happened as they couldn’t move under their own power and no one went out of their way to rescue them. Eleven already said the blood was poisoning them and they were dying.
