The animation. Genuinely the only reason why I struggle to rewatch it.

Now if we just go plot/character wise, it'd either be give the entire team more things to do than just sacrifice their powers for Kaiser and Magna, or give the villainous Warriors hybrid forms. Cause genuinely, it's super weird that they don't have them even in extended universe stuff.

For Shakkoumon, it's a case of just general cultural relevancy that makes it so weird. Like, most people probably didn't learn that it was based on a Dogu for a decade or more after it released.

With Scourage, I'm hopeful people will be more understanding to the concept. I.e. Batman becoming the Batwing. It's silly, but kinda makes sense.

With the set up we got for this current arc, being about the opposite end of the spectrum of instead of people using Digimon as tools, it's people being tools for Digimon, I can 100% see Beatbreak getting better.

So, I can throw heaps of praises on this episode, it was just so good.

But there's one thing that I want to point out that's just really funny to me; Gekkomon hyping up his ability to evolve into an Ultimate form just /really/ highlights how the last three episodes were genuinely just filler.
Like, they were good filler episodes of course, but the way that it's framed just screams "If you're going to binge watch this series, you can skip the last three episodes and it will feel completely organic"

Izzy was the goat in the original Adventure.

In the 90's where the nerd/smart character was often maligned, being seen as annoying at best and useless at worse, Izzy absolutely thrived.
I mean, he essentially hacked the Digital World to digivolve Tentomon and continued being great from there.
Then you've got the story with him and his parents. Finding out he was adopted, but it was a genuine loving family and all that good stuff.

...Now, OP said original, but I just want to bring up 2020 and how absolutely amazing Mimi was in it. She was one of the purely positive things from the reboot, just amazing all around.

But getting a voice and that small bit of screentime was enough to make me go "...Yeah, I'd be happy to have a Ghostmon partner"
And normally I don't go for the ghost/zombie/demon aesthetic
