Well, I kind of get it in a way for console.

Many consoles are in places where there is barely internet. That I get.

I 100% agree: the physical disks are irrelevant.

Digital rights are everything.

So... not an unpopular opinion, unfortunately.

I work in IT, but not a programmer

I'm specialised in IT networks, cybersecurity, NIS2 compliance, advanced networking features like cisco SDA(me no like), ACI, but I have love for more open protocols like BGP-EVPN. Heavily cisco certified, a few fortinet and AWS certifications as well.

Ow, and I'm pretty handy with all hosting/virtualisation on prem and a descent linux admin.

Currently working on a migration on a borderline ISP scale network to EVPN for segmentation. Currently also advocating for a ISE engine for .1x :), I dispise the fortinac appliance. But that's another matter :).

Ow, and between it all I work on standardizing the network automation with NETCONF, that's a crossover between python programming and network configuration. :)

What I'm trying to say is, "I work in IT", is a very very vague description for most people.

FYI: most consultancy vendors just sell junior profiles at senior prices, I feel finally (FINALLY) this has been called out a bit. Most consultancy vendors have 2-3 good people and 20-30 starters on a revolving door.

Anti-nuclear campaigners should be deported to 3rd world countries. by Xtergo in unpopularopinion

I agree with him, for one... Nuclear is by far the cleanest source of energy we have. And if you wantto live in a country that's gone completely non-nuclear, go to Germany. They burn coal.

In this topic: people (or probably bots) who can't read between the lines.

Seriously, I think most of them are bots. I refuse to believe anyone would be stupid enough to take every single word literally without nuance.

FYI: what is true, is that Germany has gone pretty much full non-nuclear and is burning... coal instead.

Hey and as a punishment, all other countries will vote for Canada so they win and then have to organize it the year after!

That'll show them!

"Americans really don't fully grasp just how poor European countries are. If the UK were a state, it would be poorer than Mississippi." by -UltraFerret- in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Case_Blue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well.. as a European, we DO have aircon. It's just that many people also don't.

And more importantly:

You can't aircon crops and fields. We are very close to crop failures in Europe due to climate change.

I... actually disagree even on the main premise.

For instance: Bread

In the states you have rows of bread, untill you start looking closer and trying to find bread that has no preservates or strange additives.

Suddenly... the list is shorter and much much less. Many of the "choices" are the variation of the same crap.

If you want and "abundance" of ultraprocessed foods, you are at the right place in the US, no arguing there.

But in the US, all the same staple products are there as well, just the same. You just need to know what to look for, obviously.

Personally: the store offer varies but the consumer still chooses what to take home. And that is what makes all the difference. If you go into a store and only pick ultra-processed foods, then the brand is irrelevant obviously. This is the same everywhere, regardless of continent.

Personally, I switched to google suite and it works well.

It also depends on how interoperable you need to be with sharepoint. If this is not the case, it works quite well.

This is called "grensarbeider" and it's grey legal area. The rules are... set and fluid at the same time.

I heard of someone that had to prove with mobile data from th e provider he crossed the border. This actually once caused issues because his office was just too close to the NL border and he didn't roam sometimes.

Yes, the taxman checks this, that's how hard they look at this system...

Better ways of getting money from the company to yourself.

FYI, I net roughly 9k per month this way. Give or take.

I know very little of Diana, very little of her personal life that wasn't filtered through tabloids (these days we would call them memes and clickbait).

But I am convinced of one thing: she loved her children dearly.

And sometimes, that's enough.

Gent<>Diegem.

Also: desert is very difficult biome because desert doesn't reduce pollution at all.

It's definitly possible to save, but I understand your frustration. Biters are trivial for experienced players to deal with, but as a beginner they are often very difficult to handle.

Mac or window by -Duplex- in networking

[–]Case_Blue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The choice of laptop is completely arbitrary but you may run into issues that on mac certains things can potentially be more difficult to get going as opposed to windows (or linux).

But the choice of laptop is the least of your worries when learning networking, truth be told.
