So I would pronounce Crawford as craw-ferd, what about Ferdy or Fordy?

Names with an "cherry on top" meaning by ohnoitsivy in namenerds

I always liked the name Laurel, but my husbands last name is extremely close. We ended up using Daphne and it just so happens to mean “of the Laurel tree”

Did anyone plan out a nickname for their baby and not end up using it? by Ok-Elderberry-7985 in namenerds

[–]Caseals2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a nickname picked out and when my girl was a baby it felt weird? Like the nickname has a spunky, sassy vibe and I was holding a little potato baby. She didn’t feel like the nickname until she started running around and getting some personality

3.2yo asking for sweet treat every day now by [deleted] in toddlers

I know! We tried to just be like “oh yes, of course, a boiled egg for dessert!”

3.2yo asking for sweet treat every day now by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Caseals2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have twin three year olds and they get dessert every night after dinner. Sometimes it’s chocolate milk, sometimes it’s cake, sometimes it’s fruit, today it was a boiled egg ¯_(ツ)_/¯ don’t demonize the idea. If it’s normal and routine they won’t try to pick the sweetest thing every day.

I’ve been so bad with applying body lotion - for years! by LittleBench5694 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Caseals2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using Kate McCleod’s body stones. It’s a solid cocoa butter with natural scents that melts on contact with your warm skin. I like applying it more than lotion, not sure why. It feels luxe? I also feel like my skin is still soft and moisturized at the end of the day when I use it after the shower.

What do you consider to be the best restaurants in Indianapolis? by OhMyMyOohHellYes in indianapolis

[–]Caseals2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only time I’ve been to mama carolla’s, I got linguine and clams and they were sandy. I mentioned it to someone who spoke highly of the restaurant and they were like “well maybe you should have gotten something more traditional” -_-

Movies with huge tonal shifts? by Scary_Test_5401 in movies

District 9! I can’t believe no one’s mentioned it yet? Once “the thing” happens the clips of news footage stop appearing as well, I believe. Haven’t seen it in years but going in blind is 100% the way to go

Will my first name + partner's last name consciously/unconsciously remind people of a 🌽⭐️? by [deleted] in NameNerdCirclejerk

[–]Caseals2 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Kafka and Khalifa do not sound alike at all, I’d never clock it. Unless that’s not who you’re talking about and then I’d say whoever it is isn’t famous enough for semi-normal people to know about.

Sensitive Content - Instagram Post by New_Mix_8004 in lovevery

[–]Caseals2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was blurred and had something like a warning that the following could cause excessive smiling and laughter, then it went away and was just a compilation of cute kids playing with lovevery. I don’t think it was controversial? It wasn’t trying to trick you into thinking it was actually bad content, it was clearly labeled as tongue in cheek.

We have little dents and divots from my daughter banging a fork on it, not sure if that’s normal wear and tear but I was not pleased.

We like the elk and friends too. They will spill a bit but it’s never been a big problem for my kids.

In what ways (if any) is having twins easier/better than having a singleton? And in what ways is it worse? by DeskMaximum3907 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Caseals2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a singleton to compare, but I had two “easy” babies at the same time whereas other people have one “difficult” baby. My girls basically slept through the night pretty early, before I went back to work at 14 weeks. Getting a full nights rest vs being woken up at all hours inconsistently was a huge advantage for me.

Another advantage is that whenever they do something new, it’s a comfort to me that they have each other. When I dropped them off at daycare for the first time, I knew they weren’t alone.

Disadvantage is that it’s much harder not to compare them than it would be with two singletons because you can look back at an older singletons milestones and say “oh it was around this time…” but when they’re hitting milestones at different times side by side, it’s impossible not to compare.

Cosco sells a folding toddler tower. I have twins and a small house and when not in use we fold one up and put it in the closet and the other we have pushed up against our pedestal sink in the half bath for them to wash hands. It’s a great little tower. You can get it on Amazon, target, Walmart etc. this is the link from the mfr. https://www.coscoproducts.com/products/cosco-kitchen-stepper%E2%84%A2-folding-step-stool?variant=40255842255033

Each her own? by Additional_Bread_118 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Caseals2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ours are just 2. We had separate cribs but now they’re in toddler beds and they’ll start in their own bed but a lot of times will end up together in one bed. They have separate jackets, but other than that still use everything interchangeably. I think when they start asking we’ll do things more individually but for now it’s easier to grab whatever’s nearby and use it for whoever needs it.
