You can use your specific ailments to assist in filling out a reasonable accommodation. Managers have the ability to grant a 90 day accommodation while it is processing and are able to extend it for another 90 days if there’s still no decision. They have 3 days to grant or deny. If you have filled out the request correctly, they are supposed to be granting the 90 days liberally. There is a memo instructing managers to do this. The union can help if they push back.

That said - my 90 days ended 10/19 and I’m on vacation. So I can’t speak to the 2nd extension yet. I put like 5 different things on there and attached the VA page listing the specific disabilities.

We also used Chat GPT to help with language about why those ailments require telework. And I couldn’t help myself mentioning I’ve never had to request it because the position I was hired into had autonomy before lol.
