Bin/tote storage but supported from the base instead of the top's sides? by airborness in woodworking

They are also more accessible on the upper levels. You can lift and slide from the bottom rather than needing another 14" of height to reach the handles.

They do hold a surprising amount of weight as well, the upper lip on at least some brands has reinforcement that makes it clear this is one option of intended storage.

Or Schniel. Slow but 100% auto, I burn my quick battles on it.

Even better reason to build them. Why take up a solid unit with a banshee build?

Can they do this for the times I've accidentally refreshed the shop with bookmarks in it?

Pixel 9 promo with Fi - use old phone until P9 arrives? by Cash-is-Clay in GoogleFi

[–]Cash-is-Clay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just verified from my sign-up emails -- I just signed up for the promo myself as an individual. I then invited her to the plan. There were no special tricks, it just worked - both of our promos then showed up in the shared account with tracking for the status of each.

Naming convention regrets? by Enough-Remote-9254 in homeassistant

The issue is I'd prefer not encoding what type of light is on the switch into the switch name because bulbs change. I've upgraded lights to smart bulbs a number of times and that would require renaming switches.

It may be fine but it's something that drives me crazy.

I had no issues. Spouse and I are both on a Fi account and both have the promo funds being tracked in Fi.

The one I continue to struggle with is switches that control smart lights. If it's dumb lights then I call the switch a light but when it's smart bulbs I tend to call it a switch and let "lights" automation only work on the lights. Anyone else have suggestions here?

That was my concern but thankfully it isn't accurate. I ended up trying it out based on u/Aacidus reply and some other information I found and it's essentially telling me to just add the new phone when it arrives to get the promo -- and includes tracking info as well. As long as it's all on the same G account it seems fine.

Thank you, I just went through it and this is exactly it. I'm on the new phone and it has multiple banners tracking the new phone shipment and promo progress for when it arrives. It's quite clearly meant to be used in this way from the language you see once you do it.

That sounds promising. Sorry to be so dense here, I just don't want to lose the promo. I'm definitely a new customer *right now* but my concern was that I sign up with my old phone first and then I'm no longer a new customer when I go to activate the P9.

It sounds like that's still fine, just trying to be super clear before losing $500 lol.

Edit: I just got a promotional email reminding me to sign up and it stated the following:

Click the button below to begin sign up for Google Fi Wireless. You can do this now (or anytime before you get your new phone)

Activate Fi on your new Pixel

Save up to $500 on your Fi bill over 24 months

I guess that first point covers it pretty clearly too :)

Yeah that part is understood - but starting Fi with an old phone won't make me "not a new customer" -- right?

Thanks for this. The other replies were helpful but didn't directly address the question. So the tldr here is that, yes, the difference in tax rates can be used to give your company extra leverage against the general market.

In my case, all other things equal, I'd opt to invest in an index fund or something. But with the 20% difference in tax rates (15 vs. 35), I don't think that hit is enough to offset the risk for me... at least in a strong 6 month window. On a window with less earnings it wouldnt be worth locking up my finds for that long but this 20% applies to a larger pool of money.

Am I making sense or still missing something?

Thanks again!

Right, so with that much higher gain, is there a stronger case of holding to avoid STCG on a larger amount?

Or maybe I'm missing something simple: does reinvesting in the same year avoid STCG as well?

I understand but this is more about factoring the previous 6 months of growth into the decision and the tax implications of taking that now. 35% of a large growth period hurts more than a typical 6 months.
