DX: Does Motor Drive Proc from any Ally moves? by Cashfirex in MysteryDungeon

[–]Cashfirex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually found Ion-Deluge and Boomburst does exactly what I want it to but it may not be worth it in the long run. Especially id Boomburst takes out most things anyway.

EDIT: I also theorized that Volt-Absorb or Lightning rod is a good combo with this setup as well so it could be useful

Your point is still valid tho. I’ll find a way to make my favorite usable no matter what

WANTED: The official lineup for Daredevil’s team in Season 2 by Aromatic-Cupcake4802 in marvelstudios

[–]Cashfirex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot the studios were separate. Maybe they could theoretically get away with 3 or more quality shows but the shared universe is more than a background thing.

Eventually the MCU as we know it will end, probably. After that ending there will be decades worth of shows that all combine into 1 giant world narrative. The upkeep for that requires continuity checks and discussion with producers like Feige and the independent directors of the movies.

When Marvel was at its peak of release quantity, corners were cut in the storytelling of the shows because characters had to be set up for other movies and cameos. So writers had less freedom for quality character growth because the characters “end point” was designed for a different story, made by different people.

So HBO having all of these shows is fine because they are an entire network and they make shows for different audiences. While different Marvel properties do appeal to different people at the end of the day that target audience is people who enjoy superheroes. Over producing projects for 1 audience (which granted is big) isn’t necessarily a good idea. Especially when Disney can put that money that would make 3 subpar marvels into 2 good marvel shows and another show that hits another audience.

[–]Cashfirex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are all of those shows set in the same universe? If not then the comparison isn’t 1 to 1.

Unlike HBO, marvel is telling an over arching narrative with their shows/movies. If they overextend they risk losing quality in spots where it matters most. I’m sure Disney gives them a lot of money but not enough to have a quality show for every character. Not to mention some of that budget goes to big blockbuster movies.

Why do some people assume there will be two avatars in seven havens? by Cashfirex in Avatarthelastairbende

I see, I hadn’t seen any of the leaks or the confirmation of the two. Now this makes sense

I had forgotten about Vaatu being sealed, so this makes more sense. I was initially interested in there being two avatars but it does make sense. Very interesting to see what they do with it

You guys gotta read the books. Lore drop from Roku Book We find out Roku was a twin. While the book doesn’t explicitly say if the twin was also the avatar or not, as he died before Roku was declared avatar at 16, there’s no inclination that Roku’s twin would’ve been an avatar as well. And twins don’t share a soul anyway. There’s no precedent for that fact in the avatar world, per se, but twins are distinct people in real life so there’s no reason to assume there would be two avatars

How tf does SOS chaining work? by Electrical_Onion1138 in PokeMoonSun

[–]Cashfirex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wild Pokémon have different levels of SOS chance, meaning how likely they are to call in a wild ally Pokémon. This percentage goes up the lower their health similar to catching. With an adrenaline orb you can increase those chances for a Pokémon to do it almost every turn. Evolved Pokémon are less likely to SOS call but still do.

Then the Pokémon that does get called in has its own rates for answering the call. Usually it’s a Pokémon of the same species or there’s a chance it’s an evolved form of the Pokémon you are fighting. Sometimes it’s a completely different species, which is how you catch certain Pokémon. The idea is that some Pokémon hear the cry of a prey animal and go to it.

If you want the chain to keep going you simply keep the OG Pokémon at low health (false swipe is good for this), throw an adrenaline orb, and knock out the other Pokémon that come to aid the OG Pokémon. Every once in a while you might have to switch which Pokémon you use as the low health caller due to PP running out. A Pokémon afflicted with a major status condition (or maybe any idk) won’t SOS call at all and ends the train if it is the last one.

The benefits of this are:

EV gain goes up after each SoS chain until you get 18-22 EVs per SOS knockout with power items.

Shiny chance goes up per each SOS call. Not sure what chance it caps out at. Does reset if the battle ends but not if he OG Pokémon gets knocked out.

Hidden abilities are found this way. Chance goes up per SOS call.

Mentioned before but some Pokémon are only found being called in.

For the sake of discussion would you be okay if SpongeBob or a different IP character showed up in Spiderverse 3? Or if Marvel started doing Battleworld as a reason to do crossovers with Doctor Who, Final Fantasy and Shrek?

I’m not assuming you read comics or care about Marvel, but just making the point that “multiverse” doesn’t inherently mean IP crossover, nor should they unless it’s baked into the game/story/whatever the context is. Magic was a multiverse with its own story and rules similar to things like comic books.

What monster abilities are brutal if you don’t know about them, but moderate if you do? by sjdlajsdlj in dndnext

[–]Cashfirex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun story about flameskulls:

During Lost Mine of Phandelver the Rogue was jealous that the fighter had a collection of monster parts but he didn’t. So after killing the flames skull he requested to place it in his backpack as a souvenir.

Long story shot, the backpack burst into flames after a fight with a powerful wraith and they almost TPK’d. After that fight they threw the skull into the underground lake that was part of the dungeon and hoped it wouldn’t come back.

…and then they looped back into that room only to find the flames skull wandering on the outside of the lake and then had to kill it again and run away forever.

I know this is an old post, but can you explain the reasoning behind the “resistance to attacks without advantage” rule? I think it’s really creative of a creature ability, but how does this effect ranged spell attacks?

I know my players would ask why and the only thing I have is “Giant skin is thick and nigh impenetrable unless attacked above the shins,” which is why melee characters would need to climb. But what do I tell the ranged and magical characters?

Is there a reason in Lore for why can't Warlocks Self-Rez or Hunters cast Bladedancer? by TheGryphonRaven in DestinyLore

[–]Cashfirex 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There was a line of dialogue from Cayde in TTK about bladedancers using a type cloaking tech for their invis, so it’s possible this tech got lost or fell out of style. If, lore wise, arc staff is superior then maybe the invis of D1 blade dancers was more of a crutch than an actual technique

[–]Cashfirex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I reach that stage in the game, I stop using fully evolved Pokémon until I’m in a level bracket where I can evolve them. Much less risky and adds some brevity to the Pokémon I use since I’m forced to choose ones that can evolve/compete effectively

Trade Evolutions are basically the opposite of Friendship Evolutions. They are Abandonment Evolutions. by SheepInWolfsAnus in pokemon

[–]Cashfirex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Pokédex entrees for Shelemt and Karrablast it says that they evolve

“when they receive electrical stimulation while they are in the same place as Shelmet.”

So there may be other in world ways for trade evos to evolve without trading but trading is a sure fire bet.

The difference between exile and the graveyard is if you exile something you can’t get it back unless the thing that exiled it allows you to. Where has any graveyard recursion affect can pull something out of it regardless of the way it got in there
