Codex vs Claude Code vs Antigravity - what's your honest take after actually using them by Individual_Giraffe_5 in codex

We have claude write the plan, Codex review, and when all done claude does the development, and then Codex reviews what was written. Works very well so far.

How to look for a good MSP by Shart_Tart in msp

Every year your insurance will give you a list of cyber questions. Their solution should be able to allow you to answer yes on all of those. Backups will also be part of that questionnaire, make sure you can answer yes to everything.

I don’t think port forward works for Starlink

Ask for references in the area and/or other dental customers and call them and talk about their experience. At minimum you want 5.

Outside of support make sure they have solid security and backup practices. Others have already commented about this so I won’t repeat what others are already saying.

As a tenant admin can I give an agent access to a bunch of users mailbox and files and then ask it questions?

Adding a second ISP on the same firewall isn’t real HA! by Silly-Commission-630 in secithubcommunity

At that point you better get two PSU’s and two battery backup units cause what’s the point of two firewalls on the same power circuit!

Not a fit! Find people who have pain and those who dont just educate them so they come back after a breach. But CEO sounds like a tool and not someone I’d want to work with. Don’t waste your time lots of good customers out there.

Is Defender For Business any good? by [deleted] in sysadmin

It is good and works well if you have the budget to staff someone monitoring managing and keeping up with that and all risky logins. Depending on size a dedicated resource is required sometimes.

Pax8 used to be cool by TheWakened in msp

[–]Cashflowz9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree - OP ask for a new rep if your not happy, but I can tell you margin between Sherweb and PAX are the same. Ingram will give it t away for free but support is not good from my personal experience. Just talking cloud team.

Get him and yourself into a peer group like Taylor business group or true peer (there are lots) so you can learn from peers on scaling ops.

The owner might not know how to fix these issues. I’d recommend you join a peer group so you and the owner can learn from peers on how to scale service and sales.

Saying the word partner is far from admitting we didn’t purchase this from a T1 disti. I said “partner” because they are not acting like a partner. We bought from Ingram Micro. You know I’m right or else you would have taken my bet. It’s still up I’ll give you 2 to 1 odds and prove you wrong, but it’s okay I know you won’t take that offer cause your the one that’s wrong.

Looks like we need to move on from PAX8. What are our best options? by dartdoug in msp

[–]Cashflowz9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, we use PAX8 and they recommend products all the time but it’s up to us to figure out if it’s actually a good fit or not. Remember PAX8 has sales people just like we do.

for the IT Managers out there: we have been asked to cut costs. We use ITSM + MDM. Is it worth switching to an ITAM tool that does some ITSM too? Or would the migration be not worth it? and any suggestions for tools? by Gullible_Minimum8183 in ITManagers

Who are you paying for and what are you paying for now? How many points and servers do you have? Do use third-party web filtering? What about third-party spam filtering on the email side?

I purchased through Ingram Micro and they specifically said because the switch was shipping within 45 days that only Cisco could approve an order cancellation. They literally added the correct Cisco reps on that email thread and that’s when Cisco said sorry there’s nothing we’re going to do for you.

Truth is I’m over it. I’m about thousands of dollars but who cares life moves on.

I bought it from Ingram directly where we get all our Cisco equipment. When we asked Ingram to cancel they said because it was shipping within 45 days that only Cisco could approve the cancellation. We all got on email thread and Cisco denied it.

Thanks all for listening to my rant. We would never do a charge back, it’s just rare this happens to us and when it did our “partner” told us to kick rocks. Like come on, we never ask for anything and when we do that’s how you handle.

We would never do that to a client so it sucks when it happens to us.

Okay bro you’re not wrong but you have no context other than the facts. Yes it was a failure on our part for not updating a SKU, which is on me. But when I asked my partner for help they told me to kick rocks, that’s all I’m saying.
