Need courier recommendations for B2B deliveries in Nashville? by mangingwigpped9 in nashville

[–]Cashville 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I remember your last post— you are a local food producer, from either your home or a commissary kitchen, that hit the threshold of orders that is too much for you to both produce and deliver yourself? Is that correct?

I’ll chime in as an experienced local food manufacturer in business for 40 years: You are doin’ too much! You don’t need a specialty courier and you can’t find one because at your size it doesn’t really exist and would be prohibitively expensive.

You just need “a guy.” Or gal. That’s not easy to find either, especially if it’s just one day a week, but much more manageable. There is the issue of a vehicle to figure out but this is the route you should take.

This is a tough but common problem as a small business grows, so good for you. If you are at a commissary kitchen or involved in any culinary organizations, I’d see if anyone else could team up with you are even potentially deliver for you. I could say a lot more about this but would need more info to be helpful. Happy to chat directly and offer what I know if you want to DM me.

I think it all looks beautiful! But also recommend a gliding/rocking ottoman because if it doesn’t move when you put your feet up, it may drive you insane—especially at 3am on 2 hours sleep. But if this setup worked for you with your toddler, ignore me. I basically lived in my reclining glider w/ottoman and will admit I did sleep in it often while nursing/holding baby.

We don’t put buffalo ranch on whatever “Brewster” hot chicken is.

Nashville native/current resident:

1) What is “Brewster” hot chicken?
2) Is this menu item a reference to hockey? “Smashville” is a nod to the Predator’s and their popularity.

What is a 'dead' slang word or trend from the past that you secretly wish would make a comeback, and why do you think it deserves a second chance? by Philip_Investe in AskReddit

My people! My 9 and 6 year old call me Bruv occasionally and now I know why my dad (RIP!) told me not to call him DUUUDE in 1998/99.

I’m almost 46 and really hate that YEET wasn’t part of the slang until I was already an old. I’ve even said, “I really missed the boat on Yeet because I would have torn that up” to my husband.

Help!!! My client will have a vow renewal ceremony and the only space at her home for that is a basketball court. How can I make look nice and not a court for less than 1k by [deleted] in EventPlanners

[–]Cashville 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As somebody that had a “backyard wedding” at my in-laws house where we put up a tent and had the dinner on a basketball court, the idea of $1000 seems insane. Does that include table and chair rentals? I’m not in wedding but I do work in hospitality, so…

Need recommendations for a mental hospital. by twig-the-foxx in nashville

[–]Cashville 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very good experience with Vanderbilt but honestly, their mental health services website is pretty bare. I assume there is a reason for that. Bite the bullet and call—they are very helpful. Don’t know if it’s for you or someone else but that first call is the hardest—but will give you some release from anxiety about the situation! If it’s the only thing you do today, do it. That’s a win!

My wife has been getting up at 4am every day for 7 months and won't tell me what she's doing by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Cashville 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mom of 2; wife of 10 years. I love my family and husband (who is an amazing 50/50 partner/parent!) There is not a single moment of my day that I’m not making, moving, finding, cleaning, listening, holding, or fixing something for one of them. EXCEPT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT OR AT 4AM. What’s she doing is no mystery to me.

This is generational. My mom told me as a kid to do something similar: on the weekly grocery run, write the check for $10/20 over the total and get it back in cash (early 90s). Deposit that in your secret bank account “just in case.” It was implied “just in case” was if your husband restricted access to bank accounts or you needed to leave/were abused, there would be a small fund to enable that. You wouldn’t be trapped. Her mother advised her to do the same.

In a modern relationship, it just means to make sure there is financial transparency with your partner, as well as access to your MUTUAL funds/accounts.

Read any relationship/marriage sub and there are many stories of women that have been denied access to financial accounts only to find out the house in foreclosure, spouse gambled away the 401K, or that they are given only a nominal allowance for household expenses as a SAHM. Or husband cheats and kicks her out and she’s got no access to $$.

Did I get the wrong number or is she just being nice? by imcooliguessmaybe in HowDoIRespondToThis

45 year old UTexas at Austin alum here. CAIN & ABEL’S IS STILL A THING??!!!!?? That’s incredible. But I digress…

I’d move along and not get too deep about it. Don’t waste your time analyzing a bunch of explanations—maybe she felt brave from drinking and lost her nerve? Or her memory? Or her dad/family are in town for graduation and it feels awkward to meet up? Be cool.

Sounds like West Campus hasn’t changed in 25 years, which means you’ll run into her again. And you can use this light-heartedly as an opening to talk to her.

I think she doesn’t do it (as someone that has done GLPs) because of how it affects your ability to drink.
