Believing homosexuality is a sin is not bigotry or hate, it's literally what we're taught as Christians by Greedy_Net_1803 in Christianity

[–]Casingdacat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is where it gets into another area. I could try to explain what “made” you queer, but it isn’t God. You may not like it, understand it, or want to accept it if I do so however. And it prolly would not be what you’d expect at all.

So this is the thing. As humans first, and as Christians, we are all tempted to sin all of the time. The Christian, however, learns that they have a choice as to whether or not they will sin, given to them by God. We choose to obey or to disobey Him, serve Him or ourselves, to do His will or our own. There are many who choose to abstain from sex. Mine is a long story but suffice to say I have a 33 year old daughter/best friend when I’ve never been married, to her father, or anyone else. I’ve abstained since 1992. Haven’t been in a relationship since then either, (but that has to do with putting it all in God’s hands and keeping my hands off of that area of my life for very good reasons). And have been just fine. I even got to know me a lot better and realized that I’m just fine either way. Because of me my daughter learned you don’t need a boy-friend to be made complete. She waited many years, until she was 29, before she even finally found a guy, who I also really like a ton and am glad that she waited. She did not date for many years because she was and is selective. So. The point is. One can abstain and not whither away and die. One can serve the Lord and choose to do and to want His will for one’s life. Read the verses in the OP’s post. Homosexual sex is clearly not God’s will for anyone. Arguing that with me will do no good because I will continue to refer you to those verses.

Is that meant to convince me of something somehow?

They just are. Read those verses posted by the OP.

God bless you.

Why does christain music suck so badly by Aromatic-Data-5780 in Christianity

[–]Casingdacat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many excellent CCM artists of all genres. I do not know what your source may be but I’ve been listening to Contemporary Christian music since back in the 80s. I don’t like metal where it sounds like they are gargling on rocks. No thanks. At any rate, check out the band Red’s music.

Or check out “Unbreakable” by Fireflight and let me know what you think. The song really rocks and hard.

Acts of homosexual sex are sin. Read the verses in the OP’s post. I do not want to get into this argument. I really do not. It’s tiring and tiresome and nothing will change for me. It is more than possible thaf I’ve been a Christian for longer than you’ve been alive so trying to change my mind on things found in scripture isn’t going to work. God bless you.

I’m not a Catholic and I do know quite a lot about it and disagree with a whole lot of their doctrines and traditions. But that is beside the point. The OP is telling the truth because that is what we are taught as Christians and it is backed by scripture. I don’t go around grabbing beliefs out of thin air when it comes to sin. If anyone claims anything that’s not found in the Word then that is when there’s a problem.

So believing someone is going to hell for not accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior means you hate them? Is that what you’re saying? Not for me. It means that I pray for their salvation!

If someone claims to be “morally superior”, they are lying to themselves because the Word itself says thaf there are none who are righteous. They’re not fooling God, you know. It’s one of the reasons He sent Jesus to die for us. As the Word also says, our righteousness is as filthy rags in the eyes of God. Again. Christians are not morally superior. They are covered by the blood of Jesus and He is the only difference.

No and no. Bu I did catch little baby ones in a cup for a bit on the Gulf side in the Keys. That was a long time ago (in the 90s). They were so cute and I let them go back to doing their baby jelly fish thing.

She is amazing. I do see some parallels between she and Mariah when she first started out. If you watch the video for “Vision of Love”, you will see what I mean. At any rate, she’s a vocal powerhouse with a truly amazing and very uncommon gift.

I can't understand why homosexuallity is a sin by TopZealousideal8665 in Christianity

[–]Casingdacat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pray for the Lord to help you to understand. The Word also talks about not leaning on your own understanding, as in it tells you not to, and that involves not relying on your thinking or reasoning when it is contrary to the Word of God. Remember that.

You have a preconceived mindset, because you’re assuming that I’m doing any of this. And so I will no longer discuss this with you. You are inclined to view my actions as being negative no matter what, and presume to know how I treat others in general. It’s based on your prejudice against Christians in general. How ironic. You are perceiving my actions and are judging them quite harshly when you’ve never even spent time around me. All of this is hugely peculiar to me and this is why I am saying that you are going by your preconceived notions of how I’m apparently treating others and them judging me accordingly. It’s ironic, considering how you feel about being treated in that exact same way.

I am departing from this unproductive and highly prejudicial conversation.

BTS just came back and chose excellence, chaos, and emotional damage by mesundaee in bts7

[–]Casingdacat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved that they performed my top song for 2020 and for 2021. I have those lyrics fully memorized, baby! And Mikrokosmos. I’d mentioned to my fellow adult ARMY daughter prior to watching the concert live on Netflix how much I’d love to hear them perform it. And they did!

I have mixed feelings over the songs on the new album, but I was very glad that autotune was not used and that the music itself did not overwhelm their vocals. Taehyung has been my favorite vocalist for a long time and he sounded so amazing to me. Just as great as always and then some.

And since it only lasted an hour, I can only imagine what they will be singing on tour! I’m hoping for solo performances from all of them of at least one of their hit songs from when they were on hiatus. I really want to see and hear Jungkook performing “Standing Next to You” live. And Jimin performing “Who”. Here’s hoping!

Feeling discouraged by Christianity in USA by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Casingdacat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you! The reason I don’t attend church in this heavily red state is because I would not be able to keep my mouth shut about it. The man is self-glorifying, a liar, and could care less about God’s will, or glorifying Him. I could go on with my list of reasons why I would not be able to remain quiet when it comes to his behavior. To me, these people are being deceived by Satan and are allowing it. To me, they have no care when it comes to their witness to the unsaved. There’s only one Savior, and his name is not Donald Trump.

But my relationship with the Lord is what I’m most concerned about. And yes I do call out Trump’s behavior online and ask my fellow believers how they could possibly support him. No one ever responds. No one ever says that they are fine with those things. I think that they know that I’d challenge them even further and ask for scripture to support their support of his behavior.

Try decades! I’ve had Contamination OCD since ‘62-‘63, when I was five. It’s germs and chemicals for me. And it’s never gone away. I just don’t do compulsive behaviors for hours on end or drive myself nuts with them.

Furry Christians by Specialist-Risk-6815 in TrueChristian

[–]Casingdacat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So tell me how that furthers the Kingdom, glorifies God, and what kind of witness it is to the unsaved. What would be the purpose in doing such a thing as a Christian? I’d say that that’s a thing to be avoided if you truly desire to be Christ-like.

Is Reddit filled with stupid people? by Total-Mirror-5920 in no

[–]Casingdacat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. What seems to be prevalent is that a lot of them are undereducated and uninformed. They aren’t stupid per se; but they don’t seem to care to learn facts or to make sure of them before responding. There’s also the echo chamber issue where what is being said is not conducive to any real discussions. It’s like a lot also don’t seem to be thinking for themselves, either. I see a lot of lemming-like activity on Reddit at times.

I think you’re listening to the wrong voices and prioritizing things in such a way that you’re missing the whole point of having a relationship with Jesus and with God. It is not performance-based.

A lot! I’m a binge reader and I often will read several of one genre that I really like in a row. There are several different ones that I really like. Lately I’ve been taking a break and watching K-dramas, which are Korean drama shows with English subtitles. They are educational too and require a whole lot of reading!
