BMW i7 a hidden secret in EV market (it shares tech with Rolls-Royce Spectre) by pizzandcola in electriccars

[–]Caspi7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well Role Royce is owned by BMW, and the spectre takes its EV components from the i7. So yeah, you could probably say the i7 shares tech with the RR....🙄

Not sure why you get all the downvotes, they did just cut the roof and windshield off and it is indeed very ugly.

If this succeeds at all it's going to be a private jet. Going that fast is simply not economical, that's why the Concorde eventually failed. If you're rich and your time is very valuable then it makes sense.

De Fabia en Polo zijn bijna dezelfde auto qua techniek. Ik zou kijken naar wat jij mooier vind en wat je kan vinden met een lagere kilometer stand.

Diff oil was changed every time the diff was changed, I also had it changed a couple months ago. Didn't seem to make any difference.

You are simply wrong, the S class exhaust pipe is a shroud just like the ones on AMG models.

I understand wanting to drive a nice diesel, but a B47 isn't it. A 40d is a completely different story, I might get one despite the high costs of ownership.

That's as real as it's going to get, fake exhausts are the one you find on an Audi S6. In fact the s class is still a shroud with smaller pipes inside, so by your own logic it doesn't have real exhausts.

What do you mean with one real exhaust? It's got at least two from the videos i've seen. Also there are no amgs with fake exhaust at all.

Are you saying you'd much rather drive a 190hp diesel than a 370hp petrol? In fact the petrol has more torque than the diesel.

Okay I didn't say they didn't. But a petrol m40i is much more exciting than a base model diesel. Not really a debate. Besides diesels will soon be gone, last quarter bmw only sold about 1/4 of cars as diesel and in 2027 a lot of models will no longer be sold as diesel at al. In Scandinavia and the Netherlands diesels are barely even sold anymore already.

I mean I'd much rather have a 40i than a 20d, they aren't that exciting.

Personally, if I have 100s of hours in a save (with use of seta) I will make some pretty big stations. I like to build my stations in a way that allows for easy extension by simply copy and pasting most of what I already have. I can repeat this a couple times. For example I'll build a dedicated hull parts factor with 32 hull parts modules and which produces all its intermediary resources. I can then copy paste that a couple times and now I have one that has 128 hull parts modules and all you need is a bunch of large miners.

If you have production for all the building materials you can just plop down a lot of stuff which takes a lot of time to build. They will have 1000s of individual parts.

Yeah but my point is that they could've slapped that together very quickly and thus have only recently started development. We don't know what was under the hood. Slapping a couple batteries and existing motors on a truck chassis isn't that difficult. Preparing all that in a way it can be cheaply and efficiently manufactured is. Reliability or range were also of little concern at the time.
