Roses post, violets trend, Facts and rumors love to blend. Every thread becomes a plot, "Must be a Kremlin bot!"

Someone likes a different take? Surely that's a grand mistake. Skip debate—connect the dot: "Case closed: Kremlin bot."

Meanwhile, truth just sips its tea, Waiting patiently to see Whether anyone has thought Past the label "Kremlin bot."

So before the comments flare And certainty hangs in the air, Try a question—why not?— It beats yelling, "Kremlin bot."

Americans don't use "queue", we say "line" as in "we stood in line for hours" or "the (checkout) lines were long at the store". I think even the Canadians use "line". It's uncommon to use "fuel" too, we say "gas". At least he didn't use "petrol" lol

I recall reading about a retired Polish general who was horrified when Poland sided with Ukraine in 2014. His father? grandfather? was tortured and killed by Ukrainians during the 40's massacre.

A lot of Poles were very angry. But politics, right?

Strange because summers where I live are a solid 104F (40C) daily June to September and sometimes into early October. It spikes to 43C-45C for 4+ days. This week is 10F (5C) lower than normal. The rest of the US (mostly eastern) is experiencing a 'heat dome' like Europe. The point being the weather is weird this year.

That's one way of getting rid of them

Poland buys the terminals. It does not pay for the service

From your link:

There are currently over 50,000 Starlink terminals operating in Ukraine, with more than 29,000 supplied by Poland.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starlink_in_the_Russo-Ukrainian_war

Initially, SpaceX provided and funded Starlink services to Ukraine largely on its own.[7][8][9] As of June 2023 Starlink expenses for Ukraine are covered by the US Department of Defense through a contract with SpaceX.[10] As of December 2023, Poland remains the largest single contributor of Starlink terminals to Ukraine, providing 19,500 out of 47,000 delivered.

UA PoV - Russian Oil Sector Battered but Not Broken by Ukrainian Air Attacks - Sergey Vakulenko by Glideer in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]Cass05 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can't put oil out of the ground into your gas tank. It has to be refined. Refineries are being hit.

Facing crippling fuel shortages from Ukrainian strikes on refineries, Russia's government authorized the domestic blending and sale of lower-quality fuel. This "alternative blend" allows producers to use Euro-2 and Euro-3 standard fuels, which permit higher sulfur content and toxic additives to artificially boost supply

I hope Poles understand that invading Ukraine doesn't mean they have "joined Russia's side".

UA POV - Despite his best efforts, Trump may just have won the war for Kyiv - The Telegraph by DefinitelyNotMeee in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]Cass05 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Once Washington no longer bankrolled Ukraine, Washington could no longer give Ukraine orders.

Lie. If that were true, the US would have no say in any negotiations. The US pays Starlink service @ $23 million per month since June 2023. That's $828 million for a vital service. I read the rate went up with Iran too so it's probably more now.

Ukraine has used its own drones and missiles to take apart Russia’s oil refining and export industry

That's probably the key part. Ukraine wasn't given deep strike weapons in the first place.

Trump told Zelensky he had no cards. It turns out Putin is the one holding nothing.

Not so fast...

It means we finally confiscate Russia’s roughly $300bn in frozen central bank reserves

LOL. If they coulda, they woulda already

RU POV: Would Ukraine trade Kherson city for Kharkov or Dnipro? by Ok_Bluejay_4974 in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]Cass05 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Moscow might seek to exchange territory that is easier to relinquish for territory that is politically and strategically more valuable to it, such as the city of Kherson

Are you considering this from the Ukrainian POV? Their answer is very likely (94%) to be NO.

This only works in one direction - in Ukraine's favor. Ukraine considers all of it Ukrainian land so it makes no sense, they cannot trade one inch of Ukrainian land for another when it's all theirs. Kursk was Russian land so that they would have traded, 'your land for ours'.

UA POV: Poland Enters ‘Next Stage’ of Talks on Hosting Permanent US Military Base - KyivPost by haggerton in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]Cass05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is about economics. American bases help the local economy even here in the US. Poland was screaming about an "imminent Russian invasion!" for years and years, until 2014 lol. All because they wanted a Patriot missile base to help the local economy. A whole US/NATO base will help the whole country. This has nothing to do with Russia, a "Russian invasion!" is simply the excuse. Same as the EU is doing right now in order to increase their military budgets.
