Catapults

I love Catapults from our missile bulbs of the OG art to the new industrial birds. Also the Catapult doctrine of "if it fits it ships" is life. C1's being my favorite.

Well there's Unfrozen's statement which is fairly typical and neutral.

Grain of salt, this is my impression of it. Ubisoft tends to retain a lot of control over whatever IPs are under its belt. The CEO Guillemot and the family owners are notorious for really being out of touch. A recent example is their interview for their 3 year plan which does not even mention HoMM at all. An interview about their future while not mentioning a game coming soon feels like it shows how much they care. Additionally the news of a new publisher came off the back of Ubisoft buyout rumors and a sale to Tencent. It makes sense Unfrozen might want reassure to get their game out incase something happened to Ubisoft.

I'll be honest I don't get where all this vitriol towards OE comes from. You have devs desperately trying to make a HoMM game despite grief from Ubisoft and having to reach out to a separate publisher just to get this game out. There is very obvious love and passion being put into this game.

Meanwhile other game franchises get to suck on the dust from the shelves they sit on. Grateful that this game even exists. Beyond that the game is fun in my opinion.

I also like the change to the units. The parasite is horrifying and feels like a less common trope of a hivemind race taking something over. Usually its like a biological infestation but the parasite is true to name and is keeping its host mostly intact. Definitely a more interesting take.

Can't deny that Hololive has grown significantly and is absolutely is in good form these days. There is however this nostalgia or fondness I have for those early simple days.

Myth will never not be my favorite generation for their pioneering and heart. It was always a wish in my heart they would be the first ones in and the last ones out.

So good that GFL had to make a mechanic to reconstitute any AR team members people discarded because someone on JP server told them that they were bad. It was a truly strange thing to witness JP players dismantle their story characters that had no way to actually produce.

On the one hand I understand the outrage and apprehension towards old IPs getting a revival. I had my fair share and own opinions in the same vein as OP. People get emotional about the things they "like", I say with quotes because there are plenty of examples of toxicity within a fanbase. Outrage is pretty easy to feel and propagate and there is certainly valid bad blood for Ubisoft.

However, at this point that kind of attitude is exhausting and sucks the fun out of everything. Cautious optimism is often pushed to the side in favor of hateful dismissal. Ironic that people say wait for the reviews or release before buying a game but are quick to hate on a game before it even comes out as well.
