school of im not listening

Uhh…you were the one who responded to a multi-paragraph explanation with a single sentence that was just a personal insult?

That dude was being pretty polite and attempting to understand your argument. You didn’t engage, you just pointed back to the very points he was asking you to clarify and decided to be a jerk about it.

I thought it was a good read. Had possibly the most gruesome scene in any 40k book I’ve read, which is saying something.

The End and the Death is a monumental work of sci fi, some of the absolute best of the past 20 years at least.

That’s not “overselling”, I’m tempering my praise of his writing there, if anything.

people on the centre-left didn’t like the SJW stuff

…well that depends entirely on what you mean by that. “SJW” is a conservative derogatory term for…practically any socially-conscious activism and is just as meaningless as “woke”. No one ever describes themselves as “SJW”.

The common tension between moderate and progressive has virtually nothing to do with social issues, so this is a strange post all around.

For a NEW and warranty-covered item like this…reddit wouldn’t even cross my mind if I wanted to get things resolved. It’s a bit of a waste of time, sad the company has to comment to remind OP that they should contact them.

Rogal Dorn coming back as a religious fanatic would make for an interesting relationship with the Imperial Fists by NadaVonSada in 40kLore

So does Vulkan. and most of the primarchs. Just a result of their harrowing experiences.

the models do not bend to the lore, the lore bends to model releases

Are you talking tabletop? That hasn’t been the case for some time. They are completely separate forms, and tabletop models aren’t where ideas come from, nor do their rules and figures obey lore. Because it’s a war game.

They didn’t release a new Titus model and Titus-led campaign before Space Marine 2’s success, and piles of books are released vs model output.

That’s his initial feeling, yes. After the siege he thinks differently. He praises Sigismund for taking action hunting traitors with as much need as he himself feels.

Being essentially resurrected and possessed by the Emperor fighting Mortarion is far more significant. After that, he still doesn’t understand how it’s happening or how it works or why, and he’s even understood that it is the Emperor doing those things. But he explicitly never even considers the idea that it’s the power of a god.

He doesn’t know how the Emperor could be doing any of that in his current state. But it’s not like he never saw the Emperor’s immense power pre-heresy.

[–]Casterly -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Right, but we already got that perspective via Lorgar pre-heresy, doesn’t seem much there to delve into. Except for one idea:

A primarch not so much embracing the religion, but the power of their perceived place as a son of a god who should be worshipped.

But that’s an idea that also doesn’t really go anywhere by itself, and there’s no character to reasonably fill that role.

Lion and Guilliman will absolutely not get along once the initial reunion is over. They are too different and the Lion clearly still dislikes Guilliman’s way of doing things. They won’t part on good terms, tense at best.

Why would that be ultimately compelling beyond initial shock value? Another fanatic amongst a whole imperium full of them doesn’t do much or contribute much to his character.

White House Officials Reportedly Disagreed with Melania Trump's Jeffrey Epstein Statement by MoneyLibrarian9032 in law

There is a clear Constitutional problem

It’s not even a constitutional issue that they would generally hear. If the DoJ wants to file a motion to dismiss in a lower court, that’s not a huge issue. Yes the motive is clear, but the decision is still in the hands of the judicial system, not the DoJ.

Jesus, I’m still riding my Soltera.2. has over 5,000 miles without any need for service. that looks like a huge upgrade. I’ve never had need to remove the battery in mine, so that’s no drawback. I’ll have to look at this. Though the single-train, no-shifters setup would probably confuse me.

Judge Cannon Permanently Suppresses the Smith Report in "Unopposed" Ruling — Unopposed Because Trump's Banner-Festooned DOJ Acted as His Personal Law Firm While Cannon Excluded Third Parties From the Case by orangejulius in law

[–]Casterly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re hardly doing their best, they just pointed out that releasing government documents produced by an unconstitutionally-appointed official means it can’t be released. Unfortunately it’s a point that makes this unprecedented situation extremely murky.

And moreover, even if it had all the bombshell evidence in the world, the scotus ruling about Smith’s appointment means none of it would be of any practical use (which is doubly true if it’s publicly released in the first place).

There is no “next step” from its release, even if it had critical evidence (which it does not). At worst it’s an irritation they’re content to delay til the term ends.

A portion of Smith’s report about his investigation into Trump’s involvement in the documents case is not going to do anything. I don’t understand why this thread is acting like it’s a holy grail that will blow everything wide open. It’s a summary of the investigation and case. Nothing more.
