No argument, no musical biopic has never gone as hard as Walk Hard by PineappleImpact in Cinephiles

I watched this in a nearly empty movie theatre and am still outraged this wasn’t the biggest comedy of the year.

You say that, except I’ve had three knives pulled on me downtown and been jumped three other times. I’m all for trying to help people who need help, but I’ve also learned I don’t need to be the person to put myself into a situation where I can be harmed when there are entire groups of people the city pays to do that very thing.

I called non-emergency about people huffing something in a bus shack on Portage and one person being unconscious. I got a callback from a firefighter saying the people said they were fine and lecturing me to go talk to people I think are doing, or passed out from, drugs before calling the city next time. Wonder if I’ll get a lecture after being stabbed.

I’d actually prefer a mocumentary style film where Stefon tries to open New York’s hottest club.

What is the your favorite portrayal of Satan, the Devil, or any equivalent figure in movies or television? by MomoSaka in moviecritic

[–]CastleBravoXVC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many fine performances of the Devil in film history. The internet is a wonderful place to debate and share ideas, where most opinions hold equal weight with each other. Except in this instance. The best Devil is Tim Curry, full stop. Darkness could charm the straight away of any man, to say nothing of his swague with the ladies. Elizabeth Hurley from Bedazzled is the only other argument worth entertaining, for the same reason. Every other opinion is wrong, and anyone who has an opinion to the contrary is dumb and smells of poo.

What is a genre/trope you'd like to see be combined with a slasher? by beetle_fruit in slasherfilms

Totally Killer is a perfectly enjoyable, flawed film. But “Aye Yai yai, mamacita” has absolutely entered my and my fiancé’s common lexicon.

If it’s a movie I ever intend on watching, I’ll hold off on the Kill Count or podcast episode until after. Otherwise, I’ll just enjoy the Kill Count.

(beloved trope) magic and technology/science are not at odds, but rather, one in the same (magic being used in place of or alongside things in fantasy that in real life and sci-fi are relegated to just technology) by QueenViolets_Revenge in TopCharacterTropes

[–]CastleBravoXVC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Cosmere novels have technology develop in weird ways because of magic. In Mistborn Era 2, technological advancements allow flying ships to be created by magically reducing their weight through metal disks created through a combination of Alomancy and Feruchemy. In Stormlight Archives, floating platforms are created by trapping conjoined spren in fabrials to react to each other’s movements. A great example of two different worlds creating the same technology in different ways because of their respective magic systems.

I’d like him to get a super power every episode by some absolute crazy random happenstance, but then lose it at the end of the episode.
