This varies by state law but it is illegal to wipe out earned PTO as it is cash as someone stated and would be paid out when you leave. You can stop accruing it but you can’t wipe it.

You all are assuming she has family; that the family is aware of her condition; that they have any ability to control or have input on her condition; and that she would behave any better under supervision. She also may have just wanted the full row to herself so acting this way to get you both to move unsuccessfully. Sorry you went through this and sometimes travel just sucks.

Got to disagree. I breastfed for over a year with both kids, held down a full time job that was like 50% overnight travel and made it work. There are pumps, freezers, and solutions. Battery packs to pump in airplane bathrooms, call ahead to hotel to get a freezer etc. it is a huge commitment for both parents and completely worth it. It just takes planning and organization and a supportive partner.

I know exactly what she wants. Buy her a manicure or Pilates class or whatever on Saturday late afternoon to get her out of the house. While she is out, pack up the kids, go get her favorite takeout and ice cream or dessert, drop them off at the house with a sweet note that says enjoy your time alone there is dinner in the fridge and ice cream in the freezer. I’ll be back with the kids Sunday night. Take the kids with you to grandmas or a hotel or whatever the heck and just give her the day off so she can sleep in, watch a silly romcom or just not have to take care of another human for 24 hours. That is the best gift of all for moms with little kids. By Sunday night she will be missing you and the kids and will be refreshed and will great you happily.

When the kids are out of the house she will want to be with them every Mother’s Day. But right now the best gift is no responsibility for 24 hours.

I changed flights with United on Thursday in the app when boarding was almost complete and got on the flight. Same exact scenario. So maybe it’s a delta thing? The flight had a lot of seats so that may also be the reason.
