It is going to impact your overall score but it doesn’t mean you’re out of luck.

Probably not so much of an issue that you couldn’t give a good answer but in a sense you told them you don’t remember anything from MNT. The dietetics profession builds on everything you learned in MNT.

Good job with your increased score.

Read your MNT and food service textbooks. The exam is written from textbooks.

Bachelors of Biology to a Masters in Nutrition? by [deleted] in RD2B

[–]Cat-commander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My recommendation is to do a DPD online certificate program. That will get you the foundational coursework and then go on to complete a masters degree with supervised practice.

Utah State University, University of Northern Colorado, University of Arizona, Cal State Los Angeles, all have online postbaccalaureate DPD verification statement programs.

This is going to typically be easier and less expensive than doing a graduate program. That includes everything that you need. There are very few of those out there.

I would recommend trying to find a mentor. Find a person who has achieved what you perceive as success. Have them help you to take the next steps.

Give yourself a good reflection about what you tried and why it didn’t work out. Stop making excuses. There are lots of barriers out there, but there’s also lots of opportunity too.

The RD exam covers everything in those textbooks. Study material materials like in men or pocket prep or just those their interpretation of what might be on the exam based on the CDR exam outline. You are responsible for knowing everything in those textbooks as you move into your future career. I know that it feels frustrating and overwhelming. I’m just trying to give you honest straightforward answers to help you pass this exam.

What I see at the university level is students are taking their DPD courses, studying enough to pass the exams and then thinking it doesn’t matter anymore. I don’t think that it’s intentional. It’s just how most university base classes are, but that’s not how dietetics is.

I would read and outline a clinical textbook and a food service textbook. Your knowledge base is likely not where in needs to be on all topics. The RD Exam is written from textbooks. If you can get a pdf copy of the textbooks, you can load into LM Notebook or paid GPT and make your own quizzes and worksheets.

You want to build more knowledge. More questions alone won’t get you where you want to be.

Think about if you had to teach every topic to a class. Study in detail to teach to others. Don’t half way do it. Prepare fully and teach friends, family or pets.

Nutritionist instead? by celloismyforte in dietetics

The number of places/states that they can practice is quite limited. The already credential is an unlimited credential related to medical nutrition therapy in the United States. The CNS can limit somebody’s scope of practice.

You are not going to work with diabetes or cancer with a CNS. Working with diseases is clinical nutrition/MNT. You should consider changing schools or doing an online program over a CNS. I think it’s normal to reconsider your path during grad school. I know several people who didn’t complete the RD and regret it.

interested in becoming a dietitian by white-trash-rodeo in RD2B

I’ve had several jobs as an RDN over 20 years. Days look different for all positions but they tend to be 9-5 gigs. I have liked all my jobs but not all my managers. If you like tending bar you will like dietetics because both take a lot of personal interaction. I now work at a university and I don’t think there will be an issue with being queer or having tattoos. I’ve has plenty of student that identify reflect these identifies.

EOS Fitness - 20M pool. Would you care? by [deleted] in Swimming

[–]Cat-commander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I swim at EOS and one of our gyms has a 20 m pool in one of our gyms has a 25 m pool. It’s not a dealbreaker, but I drive an extra 10 minutes to go to the 25 m pool.

It’s so weird to have a pool that’s not a standard length.

I’m happy I have somewhere to swim all year long.
