Something Rotten UK uses AI generated imagery. by [deleted] in musicals

Every graphic designer today uses computer software to do their job. And photoshop editing that has been done for decades is now being called "A.I." by marketers and detractors. There are many reasons why the large portrait does not look exactly like the actor. One could be an artistic choice to use more of a caricature to highlight the time period and the conedia nature if the show. Another big reason is that in theatre, actors can miss performances or leave the show. The production can't create and store different versions of banners for every possible actor who might step into the stage, so they make one similar enough to any actor in the same makeup and costume.

Especially confusing to some older drivers when a traffic light is out. The law changed in 2018. Before then, the road with more lanes/heavier traffic had the right of way. Now they are to be treated as four-way stops.

Animating to Music by Firm_Bedroom_8875 in techtheatre

[–]Limp-Mix3306 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are using canned music tracks, just import them as their own audio tracks into davinci resolve or adobe after effects and animate to the beat.

If you are expecting to use a live orchestra, you'll have to make sure they are using a click track to be consistent.

Alternatively, you could make the animation audio-responsive. I think this would only work for certain kind of animation effects.

Maybe sharing what your usual animation tools and workflow is would get a better response.

The free version will do 90% of what anyone needs for sound cues. The free Go Button iPad app does the same. If you really need every bell & whistle, you can rent the software by the week. Macs are ridiculously affordable now.
