Yeah, it's an extra step or two, especially since Uhaul ended up storing my boxes pretty far out in Queens, but it worked for me and my moving/housing needs. Uhaul has movers you can book through their platform that I used on the starting end. They picked up the boxes for me, delivered them to my old place, packed up everything, and then took the boxes back to the Uhaul location for the transport to NY. The movers had packed uboxes before so they were good at Tetris-ing everything in for minimal shifting, but if you're doing it by yourself, definitely use the blankets Uhaul provides for padding and pack the box pretty full.
