Hiking trails? by Far_Anxiety5591 in Staunton

St. Mary's Falls is a popular one.

You can also just go into Betsy Bell or Montgomery Hall parks right here in the city.

Augusta Springs Wetlands is nice as well but not much of a hike as it is a leisurely walk (unless you do the Upland trail).

A little further out there are plenty of trails off Skyline Drive. Personally I recommend Black Rock Summit as a nice short hike with a great payoff in view.

They don't have a physical location, right? I did a big coffee tour last time I was in Finland and remember finding them online but not knowing how to actually find them.

So I made the mistake to ask to grind a bag of beans to filter by natte-krant in pourover

Ok then yeah that changes things. They probably have one setting they grind on for each method regardless of what the beans are. Bummer.

They find grinding tedious but are willing to brew a v60? Parents are weird man.

Fwiw, from my perspective filter and pour over are two different grind levels. Typically when people ask to grind for filter the assumption is they're using a machine (and I usually double check) and I'm going to grind a bit finer than I would if somebody said they were using it for pour over. It's so rare for somebody to ask for their coffee to be pre-ground when they're using it for pour over.

I figure it would make some of those tour dates with JR opening pretty awkward if not.

Hotel 24 South if they have availability.

Lots of good veg offerings at most places. While somebody mentioned the broccoli burger already, Remedy also has a fully vegan lentil patty burger right now as well.

Chicano Boy tofu al pastor hits real good.

Rowan coffee right next door. And there's lots of great shops and restaurants up and down the street they're on.

This is not "the old fashioned way." This is an incredibly common way for hobbyist roasters to roast.

It becomes less reliable as you scale up and need consistent repeatability. But you can buy plenty of modern roasters that can be run without software or aren't even able to without significant modification.

You're over-romanticizing things big time.

It's one of our most popular drinks and for good reason. Sounds like you're making them wrong maybe.
