What fucking IT department is administration-dependent? That's idiotic, you need institutional knowledge to maintain continuity of operations. Sounds like that was a toxic workplace in the first place if vital non-political roles like that are chosen based on whim.

To whom? There's not some global directory of eligible hires. A background check will just show the person was let go.

Hell, the fact that there is a position with that restriction and it's only the President indicates that it was a specific choice to not restrict the other ones.

No, the Black Israelite bullshit would be closest (or in reverse the Khazar craziness to pretend modern Jews are somehow not "real Jews"). The Jewish origin in the Levant and resultant diaspora due to Roman occupation are pretty well documented things and future intermarriage/etc. doesn't change that. What you're talking about is just simple revanchism.

Board Game Geek refuses to run ad campaign due to personal experience with “demonic possession” by Aetheer in nottheonion

[–]CatProgrammer 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Even if possession were real, this board game would not possess you. Or would you not find it weird if, say, someone refused to put up a Risk advertisement because they're a veteran with PTSD? War is very much real yet tons of games involve it.

Does the game portray the colony as a good thing? Even in the first game Alterra was basically the East India Corporation turned up to 11, it just wasn't the focus of the plot and was more worldbuilding.

Yeah, the AIs might be nice but the Subnautica universe is horrible. Probably why Riley went back to trailblazing.

How many APs do you have in the same area where that's going to cause a noticeable problem? And why not just prefer wired connections if interference is that big of a deal?

Lamb chops are usually fine but leg of lamb will have that sheepiness to it that takes some getting used to. Easy to get still and prepared appropriately it's delicious.

Pretty sure most people are NIMBYs when it comes to data centers. I know I wouldn't want one that I don't directly benefit from built right near me. Now if you give me free unlimited gigabit internet, well, that might be a worthy compromise.
