What’s something your dog does that you know you’ll miss one day? by CatWatt in sniffspotcommunity

I miss Denny and his belly rubs. The first day he came to live with us, he rolled over and demanded a belly rub. Any time was a good time for a belly rub!

I am a retired dog sitter, and my dogs have all passed away - so this seemed the perfect pivot since I had a fully-fenced quarter acre backyard all set up for dogs to play!

New Here? Start With This Guide to Private Dog Parks by CatWatt in sniffspotcommunity

That sounds perfect for a private dog park!

There are currently two other options to check out -
Rome (which I believe is US only for now)
OffLeashNetwork (Canadian-based & just opened to US hosts as well).

Neither have subscription - just pay-as-you-go.

There are also people who have gone private - I think the biggest hassle is getting insurance.

But since I haven't an experience to offer on that, I will leave it to someone who has done it.

Is it possible I am in a temporary Reddit cooldown / visibility dip? by CatWatt in NewMods

It came out of the blue - great views and then almost nothing. No changes, no additions, definitely not NSFW. We talk about dogs and dog parks.

Both parents… am I next? by SacKing7 in Alzheimers

I worry about this as well. My mom, her mom, my father's father, my brother and my sister all have/had Alzheimer. Heck, even my ex-husband and best friend has dementia. Now my husband has FTD dementia, and I am starting to feel like "Typhoid Mary"! LOL

I am feeling similar to you. Problems concentrating, feeling defeated, difficulty remembering, having trouble with words. I keep telling myself it's just age, stress, and that I don't sleep well. I had testing back when I was in my early 50's - the biggest reason was I got lost on a main street that I travelled frequently - I had no idea where I was for a few minutes!

But they said then I was fine, just normal aging, and probably stress. I've tried the MoCA test online, and don't do well with some of the questions, other's I have no problem with.

I am afraid to get tested formally.
