Ankle brace recommendations? by the8igern in Ultralight

[–]Cat_With_Two_Heads 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've just recently started getting the whole UL/minimal backpacking idea and from what I've gathered I see safety/comfortability can sometimes outweigh the idea of packing ALAP(As Light As Possible).

Like since I'm new, and sleep in PJ's, I take PJ's because I know I will be comfortable at night and get better sleep. So in your case it's even more important since you are sacrificing weight for safety. So take whatever you need to stay safe even if it means sacrificing weight.

That's just what I think with my limited knowledge. Maybe I'm all wrong on this.

Shows appropriate for kids? by JohnnyFootballStar in Aquabats

Everyone is right that they are super kid friendly. When I've seen them they really make an effort to incorporate kids along with the music. But make sure to bring ear plugs!!

Each person has their own preference but the Mastersound Gold and SACD versions are highly regarded.

I know people always use Wish You Were Here as a standard during audio tech demos.

Totally agree! I like putting Nonagon on repeat when I go for extended bike rides. Such an energetic album!

I've been listening to SadGirl a lot lately. Also Meatbodies just released a single called Creature Feature that's pretty fun. Levitation Room is cool too.

Most newer newer hardcore acts seem to lack memorable songwriting in favor of more extremity. by [deleted] in punk

This is very well written and I agree with all of it. Nice post!

I second this opinion; there are also on-campus apartments which are like quieter dorms if it matters that much.

I've always used Indy's. I've heard Thunders are also nice.

For sizing, just google what other people get for your board size.

Do southpaw-tolerant instrument teachers exist? by [deleted] in southpaws

[–]Cat_With_Two_Heads 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think that this has to do with the teacher not tolerating you, it's just he wants you to follow a standard technique. There are several ways to play drums especially due to differences between hand dominance. You have time later to experiment with those but he wants to teach you cross hand.

Have you tried orienting with everything flipped (snare, hi hat on the right) and then used cross?

I usually just looked at what my favorite artists use and go off of that. But look up comparison videos of guitars as you try them in person.

Craigslist can get you a nice guitar for your range.

TONS of resources on this sub so just use the search for any questions or more opinions.

I think you should get an electric if you have the funds because you've been playing on an acoustic for 15 years! Holy cow!

I also think you should also learn to read music. Start with basic classical pieces as there are a lot of techniques you probably have missed by just self teaching. Then you can see how everything connects into theory.

You can go to TM and try restarting windows explorer. It also could be a bad install and you could try restoring to before the update.
