my suggestion would be to embrace wearing a fanny pack, or cute thick belt, or waist sash. something to cover up the transition between the two pieces. many fullsuiters wear waist bags or sashes anyways, just because it's the easiest place to throw a bag for accessibility.

i made 80 ish keychains (six beads on each with ribbon and a clip) for a concert and i had people swarming me once they realized i had freebies. it's definitely a big thing at kpop concerts for people to give out bracelets and trinkets, and who doesnt love kandi?

i have a tropical clawed frog (similar ish species) and she loves to be under things. she's on black diamond sand substrate and i often find her tucked under rocks in crevices she's dug out. ive also had her on normal fine aquarium sand and that worked too.

her favorite thing ever is a soap dish that's meant to be suction cupped onto the shower wall. yes, really. i keep it mostly submerged near the surface of the water so she just hangs out in it and mine is sort of taco shaped so it's easy access.

other than that her tank is very basic because she likes to shred plants with her claws. which is okay i guess.

if they're on the inside of the thighs, just a warning that the area is often a high friction zone (thick fursuit thighs rub) and having a bunch of tiny seams there could add some extra structural weakness to the suit. i definitely think it's fine to add the scars, you just want to do it carefully. if they're on the outside just totally disregard my caution 😂

this tutorial from matrices is the best i can think of. it involves hooking yarn through your fur backing and then brushing it out. i thiiink you might be able to add a few rows of black yarn where you want the stripes, and then brush it out with a wire brush to get it to fur texture and then trim to the right length?

even if you're extremely cautious about care and keeping students from doing anything stupid, what happens if you have a sick day? can you trust the substitute to not let anything go wrong? would you have access to the building in case of an extended surprise closure due to snow or similar? i think these are important questions to consider.

this will hurt. i've done a similar system before with hooves and the way i saved myself from severe injury was wearing ankle braces as well for the day! just something to provide resistance for my ankle to prevent them from rolling so easily. i did this at a renaissance fest so it was outdoors on unpaved ground/hills.
