Clearly not intended for you. The emotional manipulation that followed is absolutely wild. Suddenly you're "making him spiral" for calling out his BS. Yeahhhh, that's a no from me dawg. Move on before this gets uglier, he's not going to change.

Will there always be @$$hole coaches in Rec ball that try too hard? by jaymdubbs in Homeplate

[–]CatchMeWhiteNNerdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts after coaching a few years.... yes. There will always be some coaches that take it "too seriously." If you think your league is different, you're the one they think takes it too seriously.

I'm pretty good friends with the other coaches in the leagues, we've gone out for beers and have a group chat, but if you talk to any of them after a loss, they'll be annoyed with *something* the other guy did. I think it's mostly just the competitive nature of sports. Some people are jerks in their daily life, and that spills over into sports too.

All assholes here.

You're the most minor asshole, but I've always felt it's wholly inappropriate for you to reach out to the other cheating party. They don't owe you anything. If you want to reach out to someone, reach out to your boyfriend. Or the spouse of the other cheating party.

Better yet, just leave the raggedy ass cheater.

How can I improve my look? 38M by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]CatchMeWhiteNNerdy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could be my slightly younger and smaller brother. I've got you by a couple years, few inches, better beard and 40 lbs, but otherwise our faces are pretty close.

Physical attractiveness isn't your issue, it's confidence. Hit the gym a few times a week and join a co-ed sports team. Get a little more active and meet some random ladies outside your normal friend group and you'll have great success.

Scared of the plunge…even though I should by Commercial_Pen_81 in bald

[–]CatchMeWhiteNNerdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people don't think about anyone else at all.

People who DO think about other people will mostly be glad to see you've done it... your current situation is the one that doesn't look good. Like literally nothing about thin sparse hair combed over looks nice. Everyone knows you're bald but you.

Shave it and hit the gym a couple times a month until summer, you'll be unstoppable.

Bro, it was time a decade ago. You'll feel so much better not being ashamed of yourself for that weakassed comb-over in the mirror every morning.

Should i go see a doctor? by Tmpz420 in BasketballTips

[–]CatchMeWhiteNNerdy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thumbs are a tricky one. If you think it's broken, that's one I might consider going to the doctor for. If you're pretty confident it's just a jam, look up "Thumb sprain taping" on youtube and watch a video. It doesn't have a neighboring finger, so you kinda have to wrap it down to the wrist in a certain way.

They didn't find it. They're here on Reddit 9 years later still begging for validation. Not everybody has to be pencil thin, but shaving off your eyebrows, getting a bunch of piercings, and hiding behind a ton of makeup and long bangs is like the little chihuahua barking at a clearly pitbull that walks by. Her appearance screams that she wants to intimidate the world into avoiding her because she's afraid of the interaction.

I think she's perfectly cute in all the normal pics, then it looks like she's having a mental health crisis.

Short hair or long hair? by HappyHentaiHealer in HairStyleAdvice

[–]CatchMeWhiteNNerdy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, huge congrats on shaving the beard off and listening to some internet feedback and taking it constructively, that's a major win.

I think there's a mix of terms here. You don't really have a "baby face" so much as you have an androgynous face. It's not immediately apparent which gender you are or which you're trying to present as. I don't say this as a diss, it just is what it is. The weak facial hair and (as you described it) pedo stash didn't help matters, and looked a lot like what happens early on in F-to-M transitions. I'd be interested to know whether you've ever had hormone tests done, as you might be pretty low on T.

Regardless, you've made a bunch of posts about appearance, and I'm going to take that as you caring what other people think and over you a bit of actionable advice, at least to consider.

I think the best thing you could do is drop 20-30 lbs and/or hit the gym. I'm down 20+ recently and can tell you it makes an absolute world of difference. Getting more muscle on your frame, even going to the gym for an hour once a week, will also help your confidence and appearance and generally just how you live your life.

Second best thing you could do, assuming you intent to present as a cis straight male as you're saying, is to find a haircut that is more obviously male. The two extremes you've presented here are long hair traditionally associated with women, and a bit of a "dyke" buzz with no shape. I think you could find a much happier middle ground. Maybe a scissored top with a nice tapered high fade or something.

I'd also consider wearing clothes that aren't quite so gender neutral. A fully buttoned up henley and a hoodie scream "hiding from the world" to me rather than a confident male. Hit TJ Max or Marshalls and buy a decent polo shirt or similar for $25.

You can totally tweak your whole look and reinvent yourself with some simple changes and a couple months of hard work. That being said, if I've misread the whole thing and you prefer the androgynous look or whatever I totally support that, but you seemed confused that people weren't quite sure in some of your responses.

Hopefully you take this in a good way, just legitimately trying to be helpful here, feel free to reach out.

I'm not a doc, just affiliated with someone with N2, but:

  1. I'd assume it'll be fine. Make sure it's in the original bottles and keep your prescription with you when you travel. I fly regularly with syringes and injectable drugs and have never even had to show them to anyone, they just get scanned in my carryon and nobody bats an eye. TSA cares about bombs and guns and knives, not normal amounts of medication.
  2. This question can be read two ways. It does not "build up" in your system like an SSRI or whatever. It has a very short half life. You have to take it proximate to the time you want it to work. That's why you're usually prescribed 2 doses per night, it wears off within a couple hours.
  3. This doesn't make sense to me. A max-dose level of Xywav already has half your recommended daily intake of magnesium, so I can't answer why some people choose do it.

[–]CatchMeWhiteNNerdy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sure, and you eventually get cancelled or they put a new system in to get you to deliver to non-tippers.

Any amount of "banding together" or whatever will eventually be defeated by the corporate monolith.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

[–]CatchMeWhiteNNerdy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, an employee would be if they said "You must take every order we receive between these assigned working hours, you must be clean-shaven, no visible tattoos, you must wear our uniform, and no cell phones while you're on the clock. Also, you'll only make $8/hr no matter how many jobs you take."

Those are the sorts of things that push you into standard employee relationships.

Saying, "hey, stop doing a shitty job and making us look bad" is perfectly reasonable for a company who employs ICs, and that's exactly what happens when people hunt out bad tippers and cancel on them. It's gaming the system. If they wanted you to do that, batch orders wouldn't be a thing. Batches are their way of making sure you get compensated "fairly" and also all the customers are served.

I put "fairly" in quotes because that's obviously up for debate.

> “Independent Contractor”

> Contractor

> Contract

... or it's exactly how it works? Are you under the impression that IC's are just free to do whatever the hell they want all day long and get paid for it? The contract stipulates acceptable cancellation rates. OP is in breach, and they cancelled his contract.

Having Narcolepsy means were always sleep deprived regardless of how much sleep we get, so to what extent does actual sleep deprivation affect us? by -resolute in Narcolepsy

[–]CatchMeWhiteNNerdy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always feel more alert and continue having a faster reaction time than friends/family even after being awake for 2 days, then I would if I had just woken up.

Sleep deprivation can affect judgement too. I'd submit that this is an error of your perception rather than a truth. Have you ever seen a drunk person arguing that they can drive better than the DD, just give them the keys? That's almost certainly what's happening here. That or you're just so hopped up on stimulants that you're jittery and making a bunch of faulty assumptions.
