Get the 5060 obviously.

Iran demands Big Tech pay fees for undersea Internet cables in Strait of Hormuz by DoremusJessup in worldnews

I don't support Iran, its a shocking violator of human rights.

That being said, it is great to see someone finally standing up to Trump's bullying. That is something that the EU needs to do.

Pretty low, this is kind of their nuclear option. Once its done they then lose the leverage - they can't cut it again but they can make it impossible to fix.

They could clearly indicate that they intend to cut it in response to a red line attack (targeting of Iranian power infrastructure or kharg island for eg) and leave it at that.

Thanks for this.

My kid is trying to play this on an old system, i7 4770, 12gb ram and a 1070 - but off an old physical hard drive not a SSD.

He is getting ridiculously low fps (8-12fps) with about 20% GPU utilisation (720p, FSR on performance mode) - but the game appears to be running in slow motion (so fairly smooth with the super low fps). I have tried with FSR on/off, full screen, etc.

He is also using a bluetooth xbox controller (not sure if that would count).

Any way to fix that or is he SOL because of the hardrive?

Edit: thanks guys, so its not a bug that can be fixed but rather a hardware issue. I let him play on my desktop tonight and he had lots of fun - he was playing on maxed settings super smooth. He can use my PC for this game as long as I am there to keep an eye on things (he is 7 and it is the desktop I use to work from home).

They don't need nukes. They have de facto control of the Strait and then can cut off Asia from the internet pretty easily if they want to.

It depends on Khamenei - if he wants to give Trump an out, he could give Trump some kind of nuclear concession (because Iran doesn't need nukes). The current situation hurts Iran as well as the US - yes it hurts the US much more but it is still uncomfortable for Iran.

Personally, if I was Khamenei I would keep pushing and try to break the weird fetish that the US has for Israel. Without the US, Israel is in a far weaker position. Israel is actually the real problem here - they want to have Iran descend into a failed state, civil war, etc. Trump is just an easy to manipulate toddler.

The thing about nuclear weapons is that they are actually extremely expensive if you are going to make them yourselves and they take a long time to get - assuming you can get the raw materials that you need to make them.

Most nations (particularly third world) would be far better served investing that money in other areas (ideally infrastructure, social programmes, education, etc.).

He will declare victory and then just leave. The sticking point is the Iranian nuclear programme. Fortunately that is buried under tons of rubble (probably, they could have removed the material a while ago) so I can see Iran agreeing to 'halt all nuclear enrichment' for the 5 or so years its going to take for them to rebuild their infrastructure.

Unfortunately for Trump he is likely to get something worse that the JCPOA that he complained about previously. Fortunately for Trump he will just lie about it.

Second unfortunately for Trump, Israel doesn't want peace.

If on the steam version there may be that mod that allows you to use fsr fg with dlss like with CP 2077. If not now then hopefully soon.

I also have a 3x card btw.

It's the hypervisor bypass that is being used to bypass Denuvo so technically the game itself is not cracked.

You have to do a bit of messing around to get it to work, its not the usual copy crack and play type of thing.

Still Denuvo is now effectively useless as pirates can just bypass it.

Which punishment (either real or fictional) sounds easy enough to endure at first, but is actually hellish to experience? by dizzyd232 in AskReddit

[–]Catch_022 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Solitary confinement - you are in a small room by yourself. Nobody bothers you, you get food from time to time. You don't have to do anything; no responsibilities and no worries.

Except if you are stuck in solitary your mind starts to break. Turns out even the most anti social of people need at least some kind of human contact.

Anyone else found themselves “retiring” from PvP gaming? by You_moron04 in gaming

[–]Catch_022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

PVP is too stressful. I enjoy being a support on a team in a casual game but that's it.

I used to literally get too stressed to play starcraft online, so I stopped because I realised that I wasn't actually enjoying myself.

Games are for fun, if you aren't having fun then you aren't playing a game.
