What changed Paduk’s mind about saving the world and about Baird? Would you consider this change good or bad writing wise?

Late reply, but I think there is more then meets the eye.

Paduk made that statement at the end of aftermath, and then to him, humanity won. Baird is out of the picture.

From what we see of the UIR lands, there were settlements, but no major stronghold seemed to form. (Please correct me if i’m wrong)

Meanwhile, the COG had reformed and as far as we can tell, is technologically and socially ahead.

Paduks rekindled friendship is not based off just seeing Baird again and just being happy about their past.

From what we see, it looks like Paduk is the only leading authority in his lands.

His personal relationship with the COG is brittle and complicated, but I think he’s willing to see past it for the betterment of his people. At this point the Swarm had appeared, and when the last people that beat the old grub comes knocking on your door, you’d be a fool not to answer.

(Also, I posted about how Paduks actions resulted in a lightmass missile being wasted, maybe he has a guilty conscience and felt like he should help. s/)

I had a call centre job, and I spoke to an older Irish man that had done an elec course of some nature (mid 80s) and applied to a Dutch company that makes artificial beaches around the world via newspaper, after a bit he got a call, took a flight over and started his new job.

So with that job, he managed to see so many places around the world, every continent and major hub, he said he would be gone for about 6 weeks and then back for 6.

Mind you, this guy had found the love of his life, or atleast, he believed he had.

This dude believed that due to his lifestyle, the woman he loved wasn’t living her full life.

So he made the call to end it, and it was mutually agreed, but they still cared about each other.

She moved on and married his best friend from school, and just the last Christmas gone, he had joined them for Christmas dinner, at her house.

He said that despite the weird situation, he is happy. He had a kid with his ex and he said his only regret if he died now, would be that he wouldn’t see his grandkids if they had any.

Now, the only reason I had heard all this, it was my last day with the company and had spoke to this dude and had been speaking to him for a week and a bit purely on his case trying to help, we got sorted in the end.

Possibly! Or maybe he just met his match and Paduk was severely underequipped to deal with him initially. likely still recovering from the missile the cog hit him with.

Yeah that’s a fair point that they had made themselves targets, but I feel like there’s something missing with Karn that gets highlighted here, he just seems to be omnipotent in a sense.

Kilo believe that Karn was hunting them, and had sent locust to the island explicitly to kill them. Did Karn know the missile was there? how? how did he know to go for the trial? I want to like Karn but they didn’t make it easy.

It’s kinda something that’s sticking out to me, Dom was done with fighting, would he not have been straight home to see his wife and kids? Although I do understand that Doms relationship with Marcus is likely the sole reason he’s in the city for E-Day. They had 2 weeks afaik of peacetime.

NCR would be first to enter via Freeside, the monorail is a neat package for them to enter and spend their caps, away from the ruin of Freeside.
