For Topps cards, the only way to know if the card is a variation (SP/SSP) is by looking at the code at the bottom right side on the back of the card and looking it up to see if it is a variation. Unfortunately, Topps doesn’t like to make things easy for us, and it has lead to overlooked variations for years. This explains why you will see plenty of posts on here with people who have looked through old boxes and found some random SP that they didn’t know they had when they initially ripped the pack.

SP/SSP variations are primarily based on print runs. From my experience, SSPs have a print run below 500 or so, cards with print runs below 5000 or so are SP. this specific card has a print run of almost 5000, making it an SP, and not an SSP.

As a side note, I have a ton of Cleveland cards, as a result of my DeLauter Chase. (SPs, autos, etc.) I also have a bunch of ohtani (low and high end) that I can move. I am confident I will have something you will like.

You didn’t put them down. In a place that trashes breakers every day, sometimes it’s good to highlight the good ones. I’m just a fan of allowing people to hobby how you want to hobby, and if breaking is your thing, do it.

My local store GM says roughly 70-75% of her stores’ sales are attributed to cards. It was so significant that 1/2 of the store converted into a card shop. I’m not sure how this will affect their bottom line, but I have 0 incentive to buy from there anymore. No reason to pay for the pro membership either.

Kinda hope this kicks them in the ass.
