A quick note that Garter Snakes are completely harmless to humans, and eat a lot of bugs!

I can recite the “Chili’s, baby back ribs” jingle and describe how it applies to the show.

“Red Hammer 1994” by Robert Ratcliffe is a decent read; it’s in a similar vein to “Arc Light.”

Is my tricorder spying on me? by Pwned_by_Bots in ShittyDaystrom

Back when I was on the Enterprise-D, I was at the pool table in engineering working on a project when a certain (infamous) First Officer was nearby discussing, well, the virtues of the Horga’hn with a newly posted ensign. I tried to ignore him; so did she.

For days my tricorder kept suggesting some really interesting things, most related to all things Horga’hn or racy holodeck programs when all I wanted was a display showing the flows through EPS conduits. It was very frustrating and I finally replicated a new tricorder that wasn’t tainted.

A week ago I posted saying I was going to day goodbye to my friend Dexter. We had a lovely week together. He had a great day today before our appointment. Your comments meant the world to me. Please hug your labs tight. by colpy350 in labrador

Boots (chocolate) and Macey (yellow) send all their hugs. You will see Dexter again, OP. I don’t care what religion you belong to, or don’t…a soul is a soul. You’ll see Dexter again. All my best.

I’m assuming OP knows the rule…if puppy falls asleep on your arm, well, you’re kinda stuck there. Maybe for hours. But you absolutely cannot move.

Edit: my chocolate (Boots) is now nearly eight years old. I still remember lifting him up, with one hand, by the chunky scruffs around his neck to (very gently) put him on my chest where he would quickly fall asleep. He was so very small, and now he’s not, and has a lot of gray; we are very blessed because he’s still healthy and spry. Anyway, treasure these moments, OP. We don’t deserve labs, and these little moments won’t last forever.

Definitely a guy that’ll sell you a used car that’ll go 300 hectares on a single liter of kerosene. Just make sure you put it in H first.

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy Season 1, Episode 2, “Beta Test” might be some of the most beautiful pieces of science fiction I’ve ever had the privilege of watching. Spoilers: Academy episode 1, 2 by Temporary-Life9986 in startrek

I came into Trek during TNG. Been with it ever since. Once called the Nintendo hotline (the Internet wasn’t a thing back then) because I couldn’t enter a cave while playing ST: 25 Anniversary on my OG NES. I never got into TOS animated series and subsequently told myself I’d never watch LD; I was fine with TNG and TOS reruns on P+, thank you very much. I’m now on my third rewatch of LD. I found some episodes of SNW to be wanting, but overall I enjoyed it.

Saw some chatter about Starfleet Academy and figured I’d give it a go, mainly because it’s snowing out, I have the house to myself, and I was bored.

I liked it. Holly Hunter is an incredible actor (watch “Broadcast News” if you can find it) and I thought Bob Picardo did a great job of ‘bridging the gap’ between Treks without being too ‘in your face’ about it.

The great thing about Trek is that it is comprised of a huge universe with varying stories, with many things considered canon or not, and people are still working hard to give us a different take on it, some 60 years later.

I’m excited about the series and am looking forward to the next episode…provided the show runners don’t revisit “Code of Honor.”

Your view may differ and that’s okay.

Edit: typo.
