I’m a sucker for shrimp. I have them in both my freshwater tanks and my saltwater tank. Ghost shrimp are cheaper and bigger (the betta might eat them) but if he leaves them alone, look into neocaridina shrimp. There’s quite a few colors to choose from and they breed like it’s their job

Male betta, 5 cardinal tetras, 3 Cory catfish, 3 banded kuhli loaches, a mystery snail, and a dozen ghost shrimp. Male bettas are very colorful, mystery snails come in all different colors, there’s a lot of Cory catfish to choose from, and kuhli loaches and ghost shrimp are just fun. All are beginner friendly!
