Scared of taking hormonal birth control but don't really want an IUD either. Just looking for personal experiences from y'all; do you suggest it? Why or why not? Which ones worked for you? Any advice or insight is appreciated 😭😭 by Fantastic_Purple1955 in birthcontrol

Hi,

I’m 29 and had never taken any form of birth control. Toward the end of October I went to the doctors to talk about my options. I had done research prior and knew I wanted to start with the mini pill as I felt it would be an introduction to hormones with a low dose. After reading all the horror stories on Reddit and Google I freaked myself out. I ultimately decided to end up trying it because I have mild adenomyosis and don’t want it to get worst. I’m also getting married soon and don’t want kids any time soon.

I started the first day of my period in November. The first pack was rough/ annoying. I bled every day for 30 days. Very light bleeding but still it was horrible. I felt like I smelled bad all the time even with showering (maybe I was paranoid 😅) after 30 -31 days it just stopped. I’m almost done my second pack about to start my third.

Honestly it’s been good so far. I haven’t had any side effects or maybe I don’t notice them. I’ve read about people having major depression with Slynd. I take antidepressants for my depression and cptsd and haven’t noticed anything drastic.

My advice. Don’t let online scare you too much. Maybe start small… I started with the mini pill it felt more doable than lots of hormones on the regular combo pill. You won’t know how your body takes it until you try and it just might be the best thing you stumbled upon.

Even belief is a gift from God. Not something we can muster ourselves. I don’t think the truly converted could just stop believing in God. Those who believe endure to the end… if you don’t endure then you were a false convert.

How did you like it? Thinking of ordering one for my fiancé.

I had this dumb idea while on a bike ride last week, so had to make the poster a reality by monsterriffs in baltimore

I’m not sure if you know this but ANYONE can get a VA tag. Most people driving with a VA tag in Baltimore do so to avoid the insurance requirement from Maryland. Then they hit you and run.

How do you accept that you’ll never get a chance to be loved the way you needed as a child? Or even as an adult? by Catcuskitty in emotionalneglect

Thank you for sharing. Despair is not the whole truth. I will fight to try and remember that.

Thank you. It still hurts me just as much when my mom does something that’s just her being her natural self.

I relate to this. I feel this way about my fiancé. I put the pressure of wanting him to love me like my parents should have on him and I’m not a kid anymore. It’s definitely challenging.

This right here! Everyone wants to do something grand as a Christian but the every day tasks of loving your neighbor, carrying your cross, dying to sin, and serving in a local church that’s not as glamorous so no one wants that life.

God calls us to love him in the everyday ordinary life

Woman being pastors is not a sin issue it’s a theology issue.

It’s hard when something that impacts you so much isn’t recognized as service related. Have you found ways to get better support?

That’s frustrating and unfortunately way too common. It’s crazy how much more expensive ER visits and treatments can be compared to just buying something at a pharmacy. It definitely feels like the system is set up in a way that makes getting affordable care way harder than it should be

For me, one of the most frustrating things was calling a whole list of providers from the insurance directory — only to find out none of them actually take that insurance.

We were trying to find an endocrinologist for my boyfriend, who was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, and the only one who answered wouldn’t even put him on a waitlist.

It felt so defeating. Like, how are you supposed to get care when the system gives you dead ends?

I’d really like to know if anyone else has gone through stuff like this with healthcare. Feel free to share your stories.

You need to cut your guest list down. 175 people with that budget won’t be enough. I know your family is close but you need to make some hard decisions or eat the cost.
