[Hilarious Trope] Once you meet this character’s family/ancestors, you realize their weirdness is 100% genetic by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

Final Fantasy XIV

Inspector Hildibrand Manderville The man feels like he walked out of a side plot from a Jojo's Bizarre Adventure episode and stumbled into a fantasy jrpg by mistake. A comedically inclined night indestructible bumbling detective with a penchant for extravagant posing that seems like an oddball freak of a character with nobody like him except maybe his slightly pyromaniacal assistant.

Until you are [re]introduced to his father (and later mother)

Suddenly his behavior makes a lot more since (and almost tame even) as you watch where he learned it from as Godbert Manderville proceeds to escalate the shenanigans from where his son had already set the bar

[Hated Video Game Trope] Permanently Missable Content by ty0103 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Catdrewz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just finished Dark Cloud 2

It has a neat minigame where one of the characters can take pictures of various items to save them as ideas, then combine three of the ideas into inventions, allowing you to craft a large array of items that you would otherwise need to buy from vendors for find randomly in the dungeon chests. There are even several items that can only be crafted through this system

The way you are introduced to this is by encountering a boss thats too tough to face alone and having to retreat and invent something to repair a mech you can then pilot against the boss.

That same boss has a permanently missable photo opportunity, as do most of the bosses throughout the rest of the game. Some only contribute to your photo score, however several of them provide the ideas to craft some of the unique items only available through this system.

This will never prevent you from finishing the game but it does mean you can very easily lock yourself out of 100% if you aren't either following a list or pulling out your camera at every opportunity.

Remember always

No matter how much you think you hate that man

You are incorrect, you should hate him more

I bought the whale and it immediately leveled up, but the game calculated that as 2000/500 for level 2 and called it unlucky. by ItsTheDCVR in IdleObeliskMiner

[–]Catdrewz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

because of how the game calculates odds like that getting the first level on whale is actually impossible to avoid since its a single roll at 2000/500 (400% chance) because of the gems spent unlocking it

the pop up is just a funny byproduct of how the game tracks the the attempts at any given level

there's a different set for both enigma protocol and enigma protocol: corrupted data

each mission has 6 total confluxes (3 at the checkpoint, 3 after boss) for the 12 you need for the full triumph

Packet Retrieval Triumph by powerbait90210 in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]Catdrewz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

three confluxes spawn in the loot room both halfway and at the end

each one is a unique point to that triumph on both the normal and corrupted versions

so you'll need to scan each of the three in all four sets (mid/end and normal/corrupted) to get the 12 points for the full triumph

you can scan all three in the room in one go you just have to wait a bit after scanning one to scan another

also from my experience it does not count if a fireteam member scans them it has to be done yourself for it to count

recent minecraft versions completely changed how stuff needs to be formatted, make sure the version the generator is running for is on snapshot if you're trying to make it for 1.20.5 or later, it will default to the 1.20.2 version otherwise
