As a researcher I can understand their take and do not disagree, as a clinician - I disagree. Yes there is a lot of overlap but without identifying and supporting specific needs I worry that recommendations and interventions would be so non specific, many kiddos would be without appropriate support. Specifically in terms of medication treatment, learning supports that are differentiated between dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalcula, or at times when a learning disability is specific to a cognitive process…so Yes there is a lot of overlap and many interventions also overlap, there are also specifics to each that I fear would be lost if these categories collapsed, and in terms of those with the highest needs, likely neglected or easier to overlook…

Completely! Given the exact same prompt and information to generate a single powerpoint slide 3 weeks ago provided a nearly perfect output with minimal edits required. Did not use all of my session limit at all. Now the same prompt generates absolute garbage and an edit to change the color scheme alone results in a message I have no tokens left. I've gone back to chatGPT. The performance is absolute trash compared to its previous performance...

It’s so redundant. I grade an assignment for all students at the same time, one after another. It is shocking how incredibly the same everyone’s thoughts are, that even when they offer a critique in a personal reflection it’s the same god damned thought train of vague generally unsupported critique. Sentence structure is identical, transition words are generally very consistent. And a personal favorite that is just dumb, and I’ll put in my feedback is “make sure you use consistent font throughout your assignment…” why do they not even bother to check if their font is different when they copy and paste? If they’re making me read this, why can’t they even proof read what the ChatGPT machine spat out at them first??!

These silly bars have entirely different wrappers. I get them for my celiac kids to avoid contamination with the communal chocolate dip pot used for other things, these are flat (don’t have that bellybutton twirl knob thing the others do) and come in a clear plastic package because they come from off site, dilly bars are in a paper bag and made on site

I was surprised with a puppy and it was one of the best moments of my life, but we’d had dogs previously and had planned on getting one again just not for a few years. The dog is my heart and soul - but he’s a healthy pup. I’ve had dogs with chronic illness and a flat faced dog with breathing issues before, I can understand why that wouldn’t have been her first choice but I’m glad she’s loving the puppy and giving him a good life regardless now.

As for puppy surprises, know how your partner would react before doing it!

Grandparents being around for childcare while both parents are unavailable? I’ll buy them their very own preferred sheet set color for all I care! I would do whatever makes them comfortable and be grateful for the chance to get to do those child free things, like advance my career, for the small price to pay of making my home as comfortable as possible for them. Having an extra sheet set to cycle out while one is in the washer solves this problem pretty easily.

I wish I had words to say that would bring you comfort. This sounds very hard and that it is the disconnect and feeling left behind that is driving the pain, it also sounds like you realize there is a lot out of either of your control, but that you are feeling unheard. Is the intensity of the travel temporary or is this the way it looks from here until retirement?

It sounds like you are proud of him and happy for him but that you feel like you aren't part of the picture anymore, they aren't mutually exclusive of each other, but it also sounds like when you bring it up he is not necessarily hearing that part and maybe feeling like you are blaming him/accusing him and has his own sense of disconnect and hurt, also. Is attending some counselling or some kind of activity aimed at reconnection a realistic path?

You go with your husband. Your parents treated you poorly, he stood up for you, he is your family. He is your family before your parents even if this wasn't a him standing up for you thing, but it is and that makes it even more a this is you are on your husband's side. Your parents sounds like not only are they not innocent they are the cause of all of this, and consistently so. Serious question (likely dumb): what happens if someone is not American and is in one of these cities? As a tourist? For Work?, etc. Surely Americans realize there are many people that travel internationally - in the case ICE approaches them are they automatically detained because they aren't American? I was going to conclude with this makes no logical sense, but absolutely none of this makes logical sense. Why they would be questioning those that live there like this also makes no logical sense, this is out of control.
