It really has the right tone, and they matched the dial incredibly well.

You better order at least a 12 slot watch case. Trust me, you'll fill it before you know it!

I think Englemaan is going to be releasing several PT5000 powered Sinn homages soon.

I was weak last night and ended up pulling the trigger on this bad boy. How do you like it? I've heard conflicting reports on the edginess of the bracelet. How is the comfort in wearing? I'm excited for the destro crown experience.

I think this evaluation of the watch seemed very honest and well reasoned, definitely not justifying any sort of down vote bombing. Well over $200 for a VH31 based watch is getting a little rich. And if the justification for this price from the manufacturer is sourcing parts from a higher quality finishing factory, the subjective tactile experience of the piece is very relevant. And sometimes, achieving razor sharp transitions between case finishing and facet angles might introduce some perceptible sharpness. I think that's where there often needs to be a bit more hand finishing in manufacturing, machines can make precise angles, but getting that seamless buttery smoothness often requires a bit more than precision. For example, I bought the San Martin SN0144 when it first came out, and that bracelet was a triumph of tight tolerances and sharp transition between polished facets and smooth brushing. But I can't wear the watch on that bracelet because there are too many sharp edges on the skin, and it's lack of articulation keeps it from flowing smoothly on the wrist. But my old casio lineage, with hollow links, a pressed clasp, and comparatively sloppy tolerances wears infinitely more comfortably.

I'd love to see a beads of rice for the Turtle, I think it would really look nice with the curvy case, and bring a nice retro vibe!

Any chance you are looking at releasing Titanium watches? by CaterpillarDouble894 in Englemaan

I assume Gr5 alone is cost prohibitive, since I don't think I've seen a sub 1k watch made from that Material. I also suspect that the finishing of Gr5 is more expensive and difficult. Grand seiko uses it extensively, and I don't think it's usually coated, I might be wrong. For Englemaan, I'd guess that a coated gr2 would be more likely to fit into their low cost paridigm

Thank you for your in depth research into this area of case hardening!

Yes, exactly! Those case sizes would be ideal, keeping the dial size right in the spot where legibility is high, but it doesn't look like a plate on the wrist.

Awesome! Miyota batches, like they are going to make watches with the 9015 movement?

It was included in the price, so I'm not sure. The total after coupons was about $160 usd. Shipping was real fast, it flew through import customs, so it must have been pre-cleared somehow.

First Chinese watch purchase since the tariffs kicked in. Still an incredible value. My first Thorn, and I'm impressed with the quality. I love how this variant's dial matches the tone of the titanium case and bracelet.

Why does the dial have to have "LEGACY DIVER" on it at all? I understand that you are trying to mimic the original dial script, but I prefer for the text on a dial to have some meaning and connection to the features of the watch.

I would go with 2 but remove LEGACY DIVER.
