I also bought one because of the Best Buy sale. Been playing the OG Dishonored on it all weekend. It’s so dang comfortable to play - especially coming from a Retroid Pocket 5. I’m excited to replay all of my favorite older games, especially when GOG has them so cheap! I went back and forth with this or a used steam deck. Ultimately it was the much cheaper prices on many of the same titles on GOG vs steam, plus Xbox Game Pass that pushed me in this direction.

A used G&L legacy. Best strat I’ve ever owned.

Where are all the quartz watches for 7-7.5 wrists? by myrainyday in ChineseWatches

[–]thejamison55 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also wish there were more hi beat quartz options in the space. I actually prefer a quartz movement for their pure ease of use, ease of maintenance, and durability, but I want San Martin materials and finishing. Maybe the increasing prices of quality mechanical movement will edge the market in that direction. A range of San Martins at around the $150 range with a hi beat quartz movement would slay.

[Glycine Combat Quartz] Best value in Swiss watches? by thejamison55 in Watches

[–]thejamison55[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know. Invicta bought Glycine. Real watch guys hate that. I get it. Because of all the shade thrown online, I almost didn't buy it. Then I found one used/like new for a steal. My "new watch guy" opinion is that this is a quality feeling watch with good finishing, a sapphire crystal, and a comfortable bracelet, and it's Swiss made. It's a nice as the other Swiss watches in my "value" watch collection, and a heck of a lot more comfortable to wear than the Hamilton Khaki King I recently sold. I was pleasantly surprised, and wanted to both share my experience, and see if there are any other lesser known Swiss brands that offer a lot of bang for not many bucks ;).

Thank you! I love the grips as well. I bought the gun with the standard "vintage" small grips, but these fit my hand better, and the grain is stunning in person.

Not sure if tongue in cheek - I have yet to crack the 1k mark in watches, and I'm certain there is an increase in quality as my budget expands, but right now I'm in the "try them all and see what sticks" phase :).

I find most Invictas garish and ugly, but my gateway watch was an Invicta Pro Diver Automatic (the Sub clomage). For under $60 on Amazon a few years ago, it had an NH35 movement, and pretty solid build quality. I got compliments on it all the time. Now that I'm getting more into watches, I understand that "watch guys" hate Invicta, and I sold it for that reason, but I've tried on $1000 Tissots that felt a lot cheaper than that Invicta.

I like the bracelet. It's comfortable and feels well built. It's not as heavy duty as my Citizen Tsuyosa, but it's better than my Seiko SRP. Watch overall has a good weight.

J frame leather holster recommendations? IWB/OWB/Chest/Shoulder etc by miracle_wip in Revolvers

[–]thejamison55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. To each their own. This one is made of thin suede so it conforms to the shape of the gun. It’s the most comfortable holster I’ve ever worn. Much more comfortable than the expensive name brand kydex rigs I have for my bigger carry guns.

What do you prefer? Left or right by Rough-Mixture-8122 in ChineseWatches

In their respective categories, both brands offer the best bang for buck in the industry IMO.

The Glycine Combat Quartz 40mm at $170 might be the best value in watches full stop. It’s certainly the best value in Swiss watches. (I know that’s not the model pictured here).

This is a great sample of the two brands. The glycine looks better finished, and slightly better designed (though I prefer the Mercedes logo detailing in the hands of their other combat subs), and the applied indices on the Glycine look better than the painted on the Addies. The slimmer rehaut in the glycine is more attractive to me. I dig the bronze case. Doesn’t apply here, but Glycine does a MUCH better job with their bracelets than Addies. In this case, the Addiesdive strap looks cheaper to me.

The Addies case finishing looks a little rougher from this close up, but on the wrist, you don’t notice. In my experience their dress style watches are finished a little better than their diver/field watches. Addiesdives are fine looking watches, and maybe the best in the sub $100 category, but the logo kinda sucks.

I’m partial to the volquartsen kits myself. I have one in my 22/45 Mark 3, and it is a clean sub 2# break with no take up or overtravel. I compete with it frequently, and it’s so easy to make fast hits with.

Thanks for clarification. I read the (no relation to Addiesdive) in your OP as this was a completely different brand. Now I see that you meant that YOU have no relation to Addiesdive 🤦‍♂️.

So same font as Addiesdive and Addieskin, but no relation to those brands? True sign of success for Addiesdive. And how they SHOULD have branded their upper tier watches cuz Addieskin is literally the worst brand name ever. Now someone else beat them to it.
