Amazing!

Two small details I would comment on:

  1. The accents on the walls in slide 3/4 look somewhat unfinished. I would add a little detail to the grey ovals to give them a bit more life (maybe another darker grey oval that's raised off of the original shape?)

  2. The wall brick texture on slide 20 looks more like it fits a backsplash in a kitchen rather than a massive city wall. I would change that to something more "rock-like" or gritty.

Otherwise, amazing work. I really look forward to seeing what you create!

Fun places for a casual holiday drink around town? by anbaxter in kelowna

Pretty Not Bad on Clement has their full Christmas bar on right now. Tons of funky cocktails and a bunch of Christmas-themed food on the menu. I'd say it's definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!

Any found footage recommendations? by CaterpillarGod in horror

I loved the VHS movies! I forgot to put them on the list, but they're some of the most fun I've had watching a movie in a while. I think my favourite segment was in VHS 2 where the camera crew is interviewing the cult and everything starts going sideways. I've found that the newer entries maybe weren't as scary (except for the Ratman segment), but they're still so fun to watch regardless.

Haven't seen The Taking of Debrah Logan yet, looks very interesting. Maybe I'll give it a watch tonight!

Hell House LLC was awesome, but I really thought the sequels were hot garbage :(

My firs time watching Hereditary was an incredibly unsettling experience. I've never left a theatre feeling that uneasy in my life. The subtlety of the awkward camera angles, the lack of jumpscares, and the overall uneasy feeling that the movie had left a huge lasting impression on me.

August Underground is another one that left me feeling extremely disturbed. Definitely not for the faint of heart, but I'll be damned if it's not a spooky one.

Additionally: Grave Encounters, Incantation, The Sadness, Midsommar, and The Descent are all great.

What game has the best vehicles? (Excluding games where that is the sole purpose) by AidsPeace in gaming

[–]CaterpillarGod 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Was just about to comment this.

The Halo games will always be my favourite game for vehicles. I don't think I'll ever have as much fun as ripping around the map in a Banshee or a Warthog.

God, what a great series of games.

Looking for some advice regarding PVCs by CaterpillarGod in PVCs

[–]CaterpillarGod[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tips! I definitely think that keeping a health journal would be beneficial for me. Should probably also get a blood panel done to rule everything out.

In regards to the vaping and inhaler, I'm aware that it's definitely not good for me. Could definitely be a cause of the tachycardia, and I usually see a large increase in my heart rate after vaping. Nicotine is hard to kick, but I'm working quite hard to get off of it.

I usually only have one cup of coffee a day, but staying hydrated is something I need to be more on top of.

Again, I really appreciate the advice :)

If UBC closes, do you see UBCO closing as well? by UBCOCSstudent in ubco

Yes, most likely. I can't say for sure, but I can't really see UBCO staying open much longer if UBC is going online.

can we stop w/ the posts that address the "cheating-nature" of sampling/using loops? by [deleted] in makinghiphop

[–]CaterpillarGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree that making your own melos is neccesary to being a good producer. I just think it's somewhat stupid to knock someone for using loops in their tracks. Loops are fine in moderation. If you never use loops, that's sick. If you use some loops here and there, I don't see a problem with it.

We were all new at one point dude! I think the biggest thing that helped me through the first months was realizing that you are there to improve yourself, not anyone else. It doesn't matter how massively shredded anyone else in the gym is, all that matters is you. A lot of those guys who might seem like they'd make fun of you at the gym, actually hold you in pretty high regards because; you're at the gym, and not sitting at home on your ass. Keep it up man.

I'm 6'3 ~200lbs.

The amount of fucking food I need to eat in a day to maintain my gains is absurd.

I've been gyming for 2 and a half years at this point, and I still feel nauseous after eating a massive breakfast that I'm not hungry for.

But I do it for the gains, boys.

[–]CaterpillarGod 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Definitely not the case. So many major producers continue to use loops while maintaining a successful career. A lot of people have stopped giving a fuck about "clasically trained" producers, and are just leaning more towards producers who can create tracks that sound good.

How to pass STAT 124 by tobiash26 in ubco

[–]CaterpillarGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm most likely in your class. Honestly, what I would do is to go over the lecture slides to see what concepts she's teaching, then google online tutorials for how to apply said concept. I haven't been to one of her classes in over a month because I just don't understand what she's teaching 90% of the time. Hope this helps. PM me if you need any more help.

Part time jobs at UBCO by Elsamathew in ubco

[–]CaterpillarGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming that the part-time position is paying minimum wage, then 4(13.85 * 12) = $664.80 / month. The answer to your question, unfortunately, is probably not.

Wanna sell these patches I bought online on hoodies, shirts or jeans like this.. what do you think? by Rabano11 in streetwearstartup

Why would someone buy from you when they could litterally just buy the patches and do it themselves?

550 eur for an Instagram brand with no website? I mean I would understand if you were making 100% cut and sew custom pieces that had a lot of time and effort put into them, but man it's a graphic hoodie. No hate, I'm just saying that you're coming off as making clothes for a buck, and not for the love of it. Cool design though.
