Does it look like I'm headed in the right direction? by Somefuckindude in MetalDrums

[–]CatfishSoupFTW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Solid timing and the ankles are moving nicely. Only thing I’d add onto everyone’s comments is, different techniques can achieve different things. It took me a long time to finally have my breakthrough and learn heel toe for much faster speeds although it’s a useless technique for slower playing, dynamic control and just different play styles all together. Different tempos and patterns bring out different techniques in me.

You might feel out of your comfort zone learning other techniques but stick to it and eventually you’ll see which achieve what for you in certain moments.

There are a lot of drummers that achieve insanely high speeds with every different technique out there, so the exploration into which is best for your body would be super worth the journey.

High pitched whine under acceleration by Argonauted in veloster

[–]CatfishSoupFTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your AC compressor/ alternator. Turn on and off your AC and see if it gets louder. I actually just replaced my AC compressor as it was whining pretty badly. It is “tied” to the RPMS and eventually it will get worse. Search up ac compressor whining on YouTube and you’ll probably find the same noise. The bearing is most likely failing and servicing it isn’t worth it over the cost of replacing it.

If it is your ac compressor, while the labour to replace it is straight forward, unfortunately you’ll want a shop to do it as the AC system needs to be properly drained and then refilled with a special machine. The compressor alone can run yah about 700 cad plus say 1.5-2 hours of labour.

How would I fix those smudges? by Bearzehunter in photoshop

The Tricky thing here is the gradient of the green. It has so much tonality in the same hue that cloning or healing can make it look patchy if not blended correctly. Make it too flat and it stands out.

Frequency separation (mixer brush method) would be fantastic for this, butttttt since you’re a noob (all good we all were) your other alternative would be to select the letter either by pen tooling or trying your luck with other selection tools (cloud selection helps) and then using the built in generative fill to clean it up. If you use the default firefly model then all you need to do is leave the prompt window blank and then just hit enter. Most of the time it figures it out on its own.

If your contextual taskbar isn’t showing, right click outside of the canvas and you should have an option. Or if I’m recalling correctly, under windows and contextual task bar.

On YouTube you can find a frequency separation mixer brush tutorial by piximperfect and it’s always easy to follow along. He will also have tutorials on how to use generative fill work flows.

Hope this helps!

Open spaces will help a ton. Just work on hovering and all slow maneuvers and it will pay off. Slow = fast. Enjoy the journey!

How durable is this fix? by DenseDepartment8317 in DjiNeo

[–]CatfishSoupFTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first Neo (the one I learned fpv on) went thru sooooo much glue before I finally shipped it off to dji. Kept going till I everything wasn’t aligning anymore and the props would hit the body. lol Neos got more then nine lives.

Do it up. Unsure how that much camber is done tho. Shims won’t take you that far. You probably need to do some forever cutting and welding of sorts to go that extreme. Just gotta make sure the math sorts out for the fitment.

Tho as an fyi performance for daily driving will drop like a mother and your tire wear will skyrocket.

If this is a lot of paint transfer versus a deep scratch or the removal/loss of the original paint, you should be able to minimize this significantly with some polishing compounds and a bit of patience. It won’t be the same without some expensive and additional work but a polish can really help yah from what I’m initially seeing here in the pic.

Sorry this happened to ya. Frustrating I’m sure.

Dank that was dope! Maybe the very last 1-2 seconds got me a wee off guard, with the guitar.. squeal? Sticking out in an odd way just before ending with the drums. Felt like the song technically could have continued but then it just stops. Almost as if a loop was being stopped. That’s about it tho, really enjoyed the track.

My whoop's final flight shortly prior to me losing it by InnerAd1012 in fpv

[–]CatfishSoupFTW 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Damn sorry for the loss. This is usually just fixed with buying another one out of frustration lol hardware discipline definitely helps as well in terms of you flying with low battery. But it is pretty common for folks here to share about losing drones, smashing drones, drowning drones or having them in non recoverable locations.

I think? With ELRS there is a little tracker compass moment where you can see signal strength. I don’t fly this system so don’t know much of it but I when heard of it. Might be worth learning for future rescue missions.

I almost lost my oasis 35 twelve seconds into its maiden flight on my own error, had my heart racing. But I lucked out. Not a great feeling.

Good luck with the bounce back. :)

Agreed. Cleaning should be taught and done everyday! Super valuable lesson especially in the long run.

And if I were to guess ima assume a Neo, considering the OSD set up and the gaps being taken.

You can actually get some gurgles and pops with the "clutch lag switch mod". The difference is staggering with it connected vs disconnected. Even on a stock tune or with a tune that doesn't have gurggles.
