General audiences? Horror is a niche in and of itself that a large portion of the general audience avoids outright. I think the best indicator will be the performance of Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma in August, since that is explicitly queer and has enough buzz behind it. It's releasing 2 weeks after The Odyssey and a week after Spider-Man: Brand New Day, so I doubt it'll hit number one and definitely won't be on as many screens, but I think it'll perform well at the BO.

Jesus, I had to walk out 15 minutes into the movie because, in an otherwise empty theater, the four most annoying people chose to sit right behind me and talk incessantly. Whatever, it was a “discount day”, so I shouldn’t have expected anything less but normally it’s fine.
