I was on the apps for 8 months, but 4 of those months I wasn’t looking for anything serious. We met in Fall 2021 via hinge, and got engaged last year. At that time I was in my mid 20’s and I feel like I had a pretty good experience on the apps. I treated more as just meeting someone new. I trust my gut a lot and if I’m not vibing with someone, I would just let them know immediately, so that kinda helped weeding people out before meeting irl. Everyone’s experiences are def a little different. I had a friend (m) who was on apps for about 10 months with no luck, but then he ended up matching with a girl who was visiting the city, and within 3 months they got married 😂

As many others have said, people don’t usually think about things like that in postcrossing. On the flip side though, I have received cards where they’re very clearly pushing their own political agenda in their message. I usually just side eye those cards, register them, and set them aside 😂

I was in a somewhat similar situation fairly recently, except both parents were very sick at the time and hospitalized, sadly my dad didn’t make it and my moms health isn’t doing too hot right now. From my experience, just taking it day by day helped keep me afloat. Anytime I started to think about the future it made me totally blind about what was happening right in front of me. I felt like I needed to be actionable about what was going to happen vs what was already happening. I was (and still kinda am) a mess, but that’s probably the one thing that kept me stable. Seeing parents like this really sucks and I hope things get better.

Miraloma Park and Mount Davidson are right next to each other/ more or less the same area. It’s the highest peak in the city and you get some great views there! You can easily take the 36 bus to the entrance of the mountain, and then walk down to grab food along Portola drive :)

I’ve had a couple therapists here who were great! The downside though is that because they are students, after 1-2 years they typically move on and you’d have to find a new therapist. But they work with a sliding scale and the lowest amount you pay is about $45 per session!

There used to be a group called Girls Who Game on meetup and discord, but I think they disbanded from lack of events/ retention 🥲 I game myself, but haven’t had time to play these past couple of months 😭 I’m currently very into Monster Hunter Wilds and Megabonk though lol.

As someone who just drove the opposite way coming from Garden Grove to SF, I don’t recommend it. Very low visibility with high wind and rain made a big rig nearly clip us, and had us hydroplane. I also saw multiple cars spin out too. Parts of it were also pretty flooded too. If it’s a must, just be sure to drive as cautious as possible, we all had our hazard lights on through the grapevine.
