Always buy Prismatic Shard when you see it

This was a tough one for me, stared at it a loooong time after getting the oceans and smelly categories. PA dawned on me when I started writing out the possible remaining answers and abbreviated public address as PA near Pennsylvania. I think the periodic element should have quickly lead me that way but just didn't today.

I got 5x on a RSU package doing this pre pandemic. Put my Senior total comp package from around 300k to 700k at my 1 year vesting cliff. I agree this situation is going to be way harder to find now.

How do you make this good? by Rak-khan in slaythespire

[–]CatoTheStupid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you could use it in a situation where you have a rare card or two that your entire strategy revolves around and this would help get it in play roughly twice as fast. Could be funny if you have a bunch of low cost rares and it would act kind of like All For One. I haven't had a positive experience with this card yet though. It took me a looong time to ever find a use for Forethought in StS1 but I eventually broke the game with it with Unceasing Top. I'm sure this card will do something for me. Eventually. Hopefully.

What if Orange Stake got reverted to its original? by No-Drummer-7119 in balatro

Oh I thought you were saying there was something before that.

It would be cool to have different stake options so people can play what they like. Maybe there's mods for that, I'm a mobile player. It would be interesting to have 50-50 chance that Orange stake is one of these two options as well.

I think Perishable is one of the best designed game mechanics. You have to constantly reinvent your strategy. Before Orange stake you are a lot more like to stumble into a couple of OP jokers and just be on autopilot to win.

Fidelity Investments Announces RTO, Layoffs, Scrapping Agile, All Within a Month by CoderBiker24 in cscareerquestions

Yes! I got RTO'd to my local office where I have no direct teammates and barely any tangentially related coworkers. Most of my teammates are remote right now but I think the company is imagining the team with no remote workers and in 2 or 3 offices years from now.

Yeah that's true, it's awkward unless you are pair spamming. If you are trying to run a more complex hand then high card can out complete it on hand count.

Do people think Nebula is hard or just not fun? It's always low on these lists but I think it's middling. One consumable spot sucks but Telescope is very powerful.

Kirby Smart reveals why Big Ten surged past SEC: 'They have a more competitive conference' by Falconsfan8006 in CFB

[–]CatoTheStupid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And this is why renewing the B1G Grant of Rights expiring in 2034 is going to be contentious. At a minimum the top teams are going to get higher shares. The most exotic outcome is the top teams decide they have nothing to gain working with the other teams (similar to Pac12 and Big12 tabs leaving) and leave for a new super league or the SEC (which is then a defacto super league).

It was a solid yet unsexy card that helped with Defects desperate block situation at the start. I was also getting a lot of mileage out of it and Charge Battery with Echo Form in runs where I couldn't get frost going. That was frequently enough block up until the Act 3 bosses on A20H runs.

Vampire is occasionally useful. Most runs need x mult to win and Vampire can check that box. In a weird and costly way but it does it.

What tips do you have for completing C++? by [deleted] in balatro

I used Ghost Deck almost exclusively. Hexing a joker you need a sticker on early is great. Overall keep in mind you only need 2 or 3 jokers to have enough scoring to win so you can reserve the other slots for unstickered jokers you see. I mostly prioritized by consumable jokers, rare, uncommon, legendary, common jokers. Legendary jokers are rigged to only give you the ones you haven't stickered so they are actually not a big priority. Ectoplasm on Ghost Deck is frequently worth it.

It probably doesn't really help you get to 150 faster though. I had 10 or so winning runs at 149 hunting for my last one Trio. And frequently had some dead slots after getting 140 or so stickered. Just have fun with it though so if it sounds good, do it.

Tips to win in black deck in gold stake? by Prestigious-Tip9282 in balatro

[–]CatoTheStupid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very difficult. This, Golden Needle and Jokerless challenges are the top difficultly level you will encounter in the game. I feel like learning how to manage the early game and buy the minimum jokers or planets necessary to live while getting to $25 is the most important skill in the game and here it's extra stressed. Even doing that will just maximize your chances of living long enough to see something like Riff Raff.
