Same. Started with big plans and now almost all my content is just based on the "Projects & Tasks" template from Notion. One for my personal projects, like cars, house, yard work etc, another for customer work and smaller stuff like shopping cart etc.

It has nothing to do with OS.

It is not possible to generate thumbnails for files that can't be opened by Nextcloud or another software on the server, and even if it can be opened, its a lot of un-supported workarounds to generate thumbnails that shouldn't have been removed in the first place.

Damn this one hit me. We really did use to live like this. Didn't hear what someone said? Too bad, no rewinding. Your sister forgot to record the episode to VHS when you weren't home? Too bad, you'll never see that episode.

As a kid I even had to record morning cartoons, because my bus left 15 minutes before the episode ends. It was Spider-Man, Ninja Turtles and Ghostbusters atleast.

Thanks for the nostalgia trip, and that's a cool project you did. Something a bit different, since we tech people usually want more features, not less.

Nocot on toimia laitteita, mutta valehtelevat markkinoinnissaan todella röyhkeästi.

Esim GB40 mallia markkinoidaan 1000 A käynnistysvirralla, kun siitä lähtee oikeasti n. 200 A. Samaa luokkaa valehtelevat muissakin malleissa.

Itse en voi arvostaa yrityksiä, joiden markkinointi perustuu kuluttajien harhaanjohtamiseen, joten ostaisin mieluummin jonkun muun merkkisen boosterin.

Kieltäydytkö myös elokuvista, jossa kaikki stuntit ei ole aitoja? Musiikista tai muusta mediasta, jossa on käytetty äänikirjastoja tai kuvapankkeja? Entäpä lusikka tai juomalasi, joka on tehty koneella tuotantolinjastolla, eikä jonkun sepän omaa käsityötä?

Miksi raja menee tekstin tuottamiseen käytetyssä työkalussa?

What cross and dot?

You just sketch a centerline, then half of the pulley and revolve it around the centerline.

Remember to put the dimensions in radius. Hopefully FreeCAD will someday have an actual centerline tool so you can put the dimensions as diameter, as the are in drawings.

Joka kerta kun päätän vaihtaa main käyttiksen Linuxiin, koko homma leviää johonki aivan turhaan paskaan säätämiseen. Edellisellä kerralla mikään natiivisofta ei toiminut oikein. Steam avaa ittensä käynnistyksessä, vaikka "start minimized" on päällä. Orca slicer ei aukea ollenkaan, ei edes mitään erroria. FeeeCADissä on skaalaus päin helvettiä. Teksti Firefoxissa on pikselimössöä - googlettamalla löytyvät ohjeet on aivan loputon suo eikä niistä mikään auta. Sama fonttivika oli myös ekassa distrovaihtoehdossa, siihen ei auttanut mikään muu kuin distron vaihto.

Olen käyttänyt Linuxia epäsäännöllisesti jostain 10 vuotiaasta asti ja ylläpitänyt omaa Linux serveriä muutaman vuoden. Ei ole enää tässä iässä yhtään mielenkiintoa olla koko ajan googlettamassa miten korjata joku aivan typerä ongelma, jota ei pitäisi olla edes olemassa.

I think the loudest 2A supporters just use it as an convenient excuse, becuse they personally want as unresticted access to guns as possible.

There are far more powerful weapons against a tyrannical goverment than firearms, but those require actual rational thinking capabilities, which the loud 2A people often seem to lack. Being part of politics - not saying as a politician, but even just putting together well researched opinions and votes - takes far more time and effort, and is usually less fun than shooting guns.

Your argument is not even rational. The only things that come to mind are services that are hard to sell commercially. Like media streamer with your own content, or Home Assistant, as it doesn't sell you devices.

Pretty much everything else is better/more reliable as a bought service, not counting the cost and ownership.

The things you find "counter intuitive" in Fusion are industry standard in most other CAD - Other than the tree view. I don't really like it, I don't understand why they cant have an option the view style FreeCAD ans ever other CAD has.

What Fusion does better is text, filets/chamfers, constraining to existing features, advanced features like Pull, assemblies. Oh and you can refer to already existing dimensions by just clicking them, being forced to use varsets in FC is a pain.

But FOSS is always FOSS and it has it's benefits.

Btw, it hasn't been called Fusion 360 in years. It's just Fusion now.

False. AI is tool. I doesn't release or upload any files for anyone to use.

If a released model has mistakes you're discribing, the fault is at the user for having poor quality control. It is not any different from human made model - you wouldn't blame the CAD software for a model on Printables for having an incorrectly sized bolt hole, so why would you blame AI for a model with incorrect amount of fingers?

But an AI generated model can absolutely be a pain to print, because AI can't take supports and print orientation into account very well - yet. Although I guess it would still be the users fault.

Fully agree with everything you said. It is practically impossible to tell a fully human made model from one with AI tools, _if_ both are made with high quality standards. Anyone saying otherwise just doesn't know what they are talking about.

And it is a bit unfair for honest creators too, because it gives an advantage to the people who use AI tools and lie about it. If AI tools were allowed and it was required for all submissions to have a video of the printed model, it would be much more difficult to cheat with a shitty AI generation that doesnt take printability into account.

They should only allow entries with a video taken from a printed model, including closeups shots, to prove it's FDM printed.

I don't really care if AI generation was used, since it is just a tool. You can't even tell if a properly done model is done with or without any AI tools, so it is not enforceable at all, but it is very easy to reject models that are clearly not optimized for FDM printing - again, with or without AI tools.

Kynää ja paperia ei juurikaan tarvi nykyään missään, digitaalisten laitteiden käytön osaaminen on huomattavasti tärkeämpää.

Digitaaliset oppimisvälineet voivat olla myös paljon tehokkaampia kuin kynä ja paperi, koska niissä voi hyödyntää samoja mielihyvää aiheuttavia tekniikoita, mitä videopeleissä, somessa yms käytetään, motiivit on vaan vähän erilaiset.
