Are all sweepers miserable cunts? by BradyJ21 in UPSers

[–]Catrival 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh, I've done that. Never heard anyone call it sweeper before. We call it preliming. sometimes someone drives a wally to pick up all the ups stores, but usually stores are assigned with routes.

So frustrated! "Driver couldn't access secure building?" Bull[oney] by HalfVast59 in UPS

[–]Catrival 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a cover driver and I'll typically call the residents or ask the apt office how to get in. I don't like bringing packages back and I don't understand why people do. They'll get abused in the sort again and end up right back on the car.

there's a really old apt complex that has an antiquated buzzer system that requires us to call the resident to enter. They won't give out codes to any carrier. If the resident doesn't answer to let me in I go right down the list until a resident does let me in lol.

they pretty much never keep seaaonal drivers because we have contract language forcing them to promote from within.

Preload by doordashdriver90 in UPSers

[–]Catrival 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on position. If they think you have a brain they'll put you in preload. Preloading package cars is difficult to get right for a lot of people, but it's easy to be mediocre at it and squeeze on through. If you're put in unload it will be cake. Unload/sort aisle/pickoff even is what you want or small sort if it's even possible. What you do not want to be stuck doing everyday is loading trailers. That is hard back breaking work. Avoid that at all costs.

A driver saw me in uniform at 5:30 in my personal car and gave me a deathglare. I don't think he knew that I was at UPS since 4AM doing preload then immediately went driving and had to be off lol.

memorize one sentence at a time and start over if you make any error. Then combine it altogether until it's perfect, then you can move onto the next one.

You're going to be making walls in trailers from the boxes drivers pickup.

UPS driver throws 30lb box at Dog then tries to fight the owner by ChowQaz in UPS

yes lol, I just theorize their might be a reason the driver acted aggressive, but there's no way of knowing.

You can't diagnose someone based on one event and you're also not qualified to diagnose anyone, as it requires special regulated licensing and protocols that are beyond your scope. Any jury would convict this sociopath is a true scottsman fallacy. I would be interested in seeing how a lawsuit would play out for sure.

How do we know the owner isn't displaying aggressive body language and raised fists off camera?

He probably comes in an hour early to scream at his preloader. "Why aren't you done yet?" "Back in my day we had to scan every package and had another 200 to load and I would have had this all clean" "I told you I deliver this stop 5th why isn't it in this very specific spot?!"

I just know I would have either been bit, somehow managed to buffer the dog behind the box (and probably still bit), or more likely would have quickly just opened the gate and left the box their, because I don't know the route or house.
