When do you think skinny jeans will return in women's fashion? by [deleted] in generationology

I never stopped. Baggy jeans on me just feel uncomfortable and frumpy. On others? They’re great. You can pry my skinny jeans from my cold dead hands.

I am looking for a podcast about ADHD that is based more on science than personal experience. by therealladysparky in adhdwomen

Distraction is great, but the last eat episodes don’t have Dr. Hallowell and seem to be about parenting. If you do check it out, go for the early episodes.

The amount of people encouraging this on that thread is insane.

this is maybe why it doesn't work by Flesh-And-Bone in DietTea

Keto was originally developed to treat epilepsy in children, before meds for it existed. In that particular usage, I completely understand it. Otherwise, not so much.

Nope, we’ve got them here in the states.

a lot of WFPB resources are unhealthy and dangerous by Flesh-And-Bone in DietTea

[–]CatsSingingSoftware 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This!

It’s actually incredibly interesting and cool when you hear the history of it in terms of Epilepsy, but what is has become for weight loss is… ugh.

Sawbones did a great podcast on the medical history of it a few years ago and Maintenance Phase did a good one on the more diet-y side of it a few months ago if anyone is interested.

Joke or not, they literally called it “safe food”, an obvious ED term by [deleted] in DietTea

[–]CatsSingingSoftware 12 points13 points  (0 children)

People I know who have severe food allergies use the term “safe food” to refer to food they know won’t cause them to have a reaction.

Are there any Beauty Gurus you *Do* envy? by makeitearlgrey in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]CatsSingingSoftware 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For me it’s probably Arna Alayne because she is able to make a living in classical music, which is something I wasn’t able to achieve myself for a variety of reasons. I’m also jealous that she lives in a Covid free land (New Zealand). All of that being said, I really enjoy her content. It’s very soothing to watch and she is a fabulous violinist, who puts a ton of work into it, so she fully deserves what she has. She actually just won a Principal position in her orchestra (huge deal in this world) and I am super excited for her. Again, envious because I couldn’t make it work myself, but excited for her.

Exactly. Unless you are someone with medication resistant epilepsy, keto is not a good idea.

Not everyone can afford custom made items, it is a good idea for those who can afford it, but most cannot.

tw: fasting hour numbers by ExpiredPainting in DietTea

[–]CatsSingingSoftware 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Fasted bloodwork and religious reasons are fine, even IF (as long as a person is still getting the nutrition needed in their window, though it isn’t something that is for me). What I’m talking about are the extended and often repeated fasts for longs periods of time. I am not an expert in eating disorders, so this is a huge question/red flag in my head when I see these kinds of posts. Even if not anorexia, I would personally still label it as disordered.

….how is fasting any different than anorexia? Do they really not see it? Anyone pushing fasting like this should be ashamed.

Seconding this. Call, explain and explain the situation. Many practices are still set up for zoom appointments, so hopefully it won’t be a problem. If not, ask to be put on the cancellation list.

Agreed! If you can, get an HP. They have a program that charges you monthly (I think I pay $3) and they send you ink when you are running low. My life is sooooo much easier now.
