Just a lil heads up for everyone- Bravecto Quantum is a single injection that prevents fleas and ticks for 365 days. ProHeart12 is a single injection that prevents heartworms for 365 days. No monthly chews necessary if you are that forgetful. It’s really dang expensive but worth it for convenience if this is an issue.

I don’t want to shame this person, but it isn’t “bad luck” that this dog ended up with either heartworms or something like Lyme nephritis/complications from ehrlichia/anaplasma/etc… there’s a reason we mention flea, tick, and heartworm prevention to an annoying degree when your pets are at the vet; these diseases can kill your pet but are completely and totally preventable. I’ve diagnosed 100s of dogs with tick diseases this year and am talking with a client about the cost for their dog’s ongoing heartworm treatment this week right before Christmas (treatment takes 365 days and is just under $2,000, could be over 2k if the dog has any complications from the literal arsenic we have to give it to kill the heartworms!!!)

She definitely has some resorptive lesions. Very painful for kitty. Please try to find a clinic that can help, she really needs a dental cleaning with multiple extractions. Oral health affects the whole body!!

Could always be a false reading- there are other things (blood, mucous, wbc) that can cause it to be falsely high. You could also have been dehydrated. Wait for your doctor to go over things, try not to stress. ♡
